Are we the only two that have done it yet??
Us 2 & TommyT have managed to get something finished so far!
Tommy, get your tune up mofo!
hey Roben,
yeah not bad man.
another different take and quite different.
Robbie well played, good to see you also do well in the MOS comp …considering most of the entries were already up ages ago and had a big head start.
krome
Thanks mate! I unfortunately missed out on the deadline as my comp was away getting upgraded at the time, shame really but I know how much these online comp things can be more of a popularity contest. Defo think Robbies was better than the track that won it, in fact i didn’t like the one that won, but there ya go, each to their own i guess
Thanks again for taking the time out to listen and comment, always valued.
So krome, when you going to start messaging again as Krome and when you going to get your submission up?
We need more submissions!
Hey Roben,
i’ve finally got around to sorting my username back
i was stuck in a loop and no matter what i did it the bbs wouldn’t let me login under krome.
tried sending an email and it said user already exists.
anyways i think i resolved it now.
ermm as for my submission cough
i’ll get around to it soon, i did start it but lost inspiration. hope to get my mojo back soon though.

I noticed your notices everywhere!!
No excuses
Roben and Robbie,
Nice work guys - love the 2 different interpritations of the track. I must confess i downloaded the parts but i really struggled syncing the vocal to my drums - i’m using Ableton and wondered if there is a preffered method to sync it up. My track is running at 130bpm.
Can any of you two gurus help at all.
Cheers
I found the vocal tuff to deal with (Ask TommyT), It is one of those vocals which is starts slighty late. I found this on YouTube which helped me.
Lesson 009: Warping tracks and vocals in Live 8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxlrL8YYsvk
Thanks Robbie i’ll check it out.
I still havent got around starting this or even looking at this yet, but we have just under 3 weeks so loads of time to make a mess of it yet…lol
Boneidol - the force in you is strony my youn jedi - lol
3 weeks left and your not even fazed ha ha.
Robbie - checked out the warping tutorial you posted - excellent stuff. I will have a go at it and see what happens.
Also the guy that posted the tutorial on you tube has done load of other useful tutorials not sure if you have seen them but well worth checking out.
Good video Robbie!
To be honest mejaques, I know it sounds a bit old skool, but i chopped up the vocals and manually placed them in whilst listening to the beats.
Chopping them up enables you to adjust to the gaps between each word, so if you have a faster track or a slower track than the BPM to what the accapella was originated too, you’re able to adjust to that manually. Rather than stretching it and making it sound weird.
Of course with Live 8 you can adjust the timing with your transients, by stretching or shortening the gaps between two yellow transients set at the end of the first word and the beginning of your second, but both approaches work the same.
When the accapella was loaded into ableton I made sure that it was warped to the BPM I had set my track too, and set to ‘re-pitch’, that way the vocal was pitched to match my track. If the track is only a couple or so BPM from the original then it doesn’t sound too bad, but if you’re going to be working something much more than that then maybe re-pitch isn’t a good option to choose due to the way it will end up changing the tone of the vocal.
Thanks for taking a listen and commenting by the way

hehe
yeah i’ll have to put up what i have soon for better or worse.
still looking forward to what some of the rest of the crew have come up with though.
Roben,
Thanks very much for the detailed explination - you know what sometimes the simplest things make sense.
With all this modern technology you sometimes overlook the old school way. Im gonna have a go at syncing various vocals etc.
Also dont know if you have noticed but Ferry Corsten as in system F he is releasing the parts for all of his songs for people to remix and submit - and seeing how you enjoy a good remix there should be plenty to choose from.
P.S download the Podcast excellent stuff - long time sine i have heard the bini and martini track - also love the mix of Pryda Pianjooo
Top one nice one get sorted:)
Right am going to be starting mine in abit as just finished two college essays this afternoon so got abit of free time now:)
