Hi everyone.br
br
I was wondering if you have any good tips and tricks when you want to compress already compressed material, and how to compress two differently compressed tracks against each other. And of course mastering it :)br
br
Thanks a lot
It all depends on how clean they sound compressed? Unfortunately if you heavy compression on the same track twice it will often sound distorted! Ony thing you could try is a bit of eqing and turning the samples down…
Yea, that’s what i found out works the best as well… but i just wanted to see if there were some other good tips and tricks for it :)br
But thanks for the response
I all depends on the sound your going for.br
If you want to compress the sound to gel it back into your own productions and find its over compressed, you can use expansion that will open the over compressed sound back up. For this you need a ratio of bellow 1:1.br
Then you can add your own compressionbr
br
Also i prefer to use heavy compression on a Aux and feed my drums to it. br
This way you can they control the compressed sound with the channel fader.br
br
And then use a light compression on the sounds itself to to control dynamics if needed.br

Here is a key point also… Remember not everything needs to be compressed.
