Tony Romera

Hey,br
br
I am wondering if you guys know how to make a similiar sound used in this track:br
br
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7DWXgQdmNcwbr
br
Its the dirty thing you hear,br
br
It doesnt have to be the exact same but that kinda sound!

ah yes, I have made a synth just like that. Do you ever use Uhe Zebra2? Is there a way for me to upload my preset for you, because it is very complicated and may take a lot of words to describe. br
br
Also, a short way to do a grindy sound kind of simular is using a step processor on some sort of low tuned saw or square with Native Instrument’s Massive…but the one you can make with Zebra2 is almost identical to the sound in the Tony Romera song.br

Thanks for your reply!br
No i dont have zebra, i have ana ,sylenth, massive and the minimoog.br
I thought zebra isnt for mac?br
br
If you have time, can you tell me how to make it?br
Ive searched all over internet and all my presets, also i tried to make it myself from scratch but i dont get even close:(br
And i really want to know this kinda sounds cause its really what i need and want to use:)br
If you want to tell me your my hero

I just saw that Z3ta is now also on mac!br
I will buy it this evening! br
Also i dont know if you on work mac? Otherwise will the presets available for me?

ah, I didnt know they had come out with zebra3! Uhe’s Zebra2 is definitely for mac, though. I think both vst and au… but i only us au, so none of the presets i make will work for pc. but I highly recommend buying Zebra, (think its around $200usd) it is an amazing Synth capable of producing some very intense sounds and it is very versatile. br
br
it is a modulator synth, so it takes a long long time to get used to. but if you take the time to learn how to work it, you will be capable of producing so many sounds, its unbelievable br
br
I will try and write up my best way of describing what i did tonight to get that sound, though…i am at work now and need to be looking it to describe it.br
br
cool thing is that it is only one oscillator…but what makes it complicated is all the shaping and lfo’s that are involved. I do add a lot of extras so that I can morph the sound with a controller, but I will try to describe it as simple as possible. If that does not work, i am sure i can upload my preset somewhere for you to download and use. br
br
Also if you do not get zebra, i think I can record some sample scales that you can cut up and use in simpler or something of the sort maybe. it would not work as well as having the synth, but can get the job done.br
br

I just bought it and installed it!br
Playing around now a bit, br
br
If it’s more easy to just put online the preset ( if you want ) it’s okay too,br
Then i can see and figure out how it works my own.br
br
I keep a watch on this topic cause i cant wait:hehe:

ah, perfect. much easier here. br

download it go into your mac library folder go to audio folder go to presets folder go to u-he folder go to zebra folder put file in one of the presets folders in that one, and remember which one it is. then, start or restart ableton open up zebra2, find Staf is GRINDER preset and fool around with it. br
i made the xy pads do a lot for the sound (enhancing certain parts and what not) and there are some effects at the bottom that are on or off that are neat also. the lower the notes you play the more grind or more grundgy sound you hear. let me know what you think and if that is the actual sound you looking for.br
br
cheersbr
Staf

Thanks alot mate!!br
br
Yes this was the sound i was looking for so long!br
br
finaly i have it:cool:br
br
Thanks alot, I will be busy for tonight:Dbr
br
Iam not really a sound designer so this really helps me alot!br
br
one more time thanks!:exclamationmark:

Not a problem, just keep playing around with different synths a lot and learning about them and you will start to pick up on how to create the sounds you hear in songs from the radio and what not. br
