Track template

followed the electro house tutorial cos its in cubase and i only moved onto cubase 5 quite recently

so i set up the drum bus etc and FX tracks (hadnt realised how to do this previously)

and it seemed to be organised better etc

so i took out the midi / audio parts and saved it as a track template

i use the same drum kit every time anyway so i saved it with the drums eq’d already and when i started a new project tonight i was up and running in no time

got a nice soundin bassline in already…normally wd have been fannyin around with drums for ages…

dead chuffed with meself have to say…

anyone else do this?

i have a template set up but i dont use the same drum kit for every song

i think having to work with a Drum kit is a good idea to learn to practice . but still i use other Drum hits.

yeah ive tried out different kits and the one im using in the groove agent sounds most like what i want my drums to be like

although i am a bit bored of the snare

im slowly trying to build me own kit usin one shot samples taken from old dub albums

mightnt work tho cos theyre all heavy on the reverb…but its worth a try

The Joys of Cubases templates… not mentioning any names but i know someone who used to make a trance track save a template then do lots of remixes based on the same template and desk settings… worked a treat so i heard!

you could pump out a decent remix in a couple of days… apparently.

jaysus im not that bad!!

and i have added lots of new bits to the new track

i like the idea of the template, but i always start fresh on every track. problem with it there is no continuity with my “sound”

might give the template thing a try

I use a blank template for my hardhouse tracks

Saves loads of time having your midi precussion hits already hooked up to the sampler, also have a rolling and off beat bass set up what I just move about to suit my mood!

Also find having of fx’s hooked up saves time, like having a filter on the snare pre mapped.

O and by the way it’s only a 16bar layout not a whole track one!

Its fun to use the Beatdesigner on an External Midi Effect Channel for Groove Agent One !

You get cool Grooves verry quickley :stuck_out_tongue:

i just meant i have all the channels and folders set up and FX set up

i dont save the musical parts as a template !!!
