Trick from "Minimal", how to in Cubase?

Hi!

I’m new to this site. Very cool. Just saw the “How To Make Minimal -Dubfire” tutorial, “Drums” video. Phil imports a loop in which he automatically cuts it up and gets all the hitpoints assigned to midi, after which he shortens the decay of all the audio clips.

Ì work in Cubase however.

I tried cutting the audio up and shortening all the individual hits manually, and I also tried “gating” the audio with Oxford Dynamics plugins, but neither gave that same very clicky, crackly short decayed cool sound as when Phil demonstrated the technique in Ableton.

Anyone know to achieve a similar result in Cubase?

Regards

Filip
