I have had trouble with the Trance and Swedish Mafia live set files ( ALS) where it crashes while loading the file ( fatal error resetting the program or the machine is necessary) .
Dont know if the bug lies with Ableton, your als files.. or my system. I have tried it on both my PC and Mac version and it doesnt load on both. Both Files seem to load on Ableton 7. All my Abletons are registered original versions.

you say that it loads fine in ableton 7, which version of ableton doesn’t it load in for you?

just noticed your post name states ableton 8,
can you resave the ableton 7 als files on your computer and then open them using ableton 8
