Hey - I’m trying to freeze tracks in an ableton project so I can share it with someone without the same VST’s however I get the following error:
“The track cannot be frozen because of the routing pluck1 | Compressor”
Anyone know a way around this? I dont want to remove the compressor as its a sidechain and a big part of the sound.
It seems the track has a routing that is not native to the track, i.e. there is a outside
signal (sidechain) & Ableton Live cant chase the signal down the line, only its own track contents..
Solution..
Bounce the tracks in question & keep your workflow flowing..
Keep & mute the original incase you need to re-edit..

Sorry Lenners, I’m confused… I still lose the compression fx and the person I’m sharing with wont be able to readd it… if I copy the track the other person still wont be able to use it…

just record your sidechained channel on the separate track and send that instead, I think that’s what Lenners said
sidechain is on a track of its own…
Its because of the compressor.
Solution?
Select the compressor
Right click
Select Cut
Freeze the track
Flatten the track
Right click in the area where the compressor was
Paste
BLAMMO!

Record the bloody output! lol Make a new audio track, in ‘audio from’ select the output of the channel in question, arm the channel and hit record or do what Howie said if you are sharing ableton session.
