I’ve seen a youtube video using logics guitar tuner for finding the correct pitch of drum sounds so you can tune them to your bassline. I don’t have logic and my ears aren’t good enough to be able to do this yet, so I was wondering if there’s a preferrably free or cheap comparable plug-in for this that anyone knows of. Can’t post a link as its against the forum rules, being another music production tutorial company, but if you type in logic and tuning drums it should come up. Or if there’s not a plug-in like that available, any more general tips people have got on tuning drums would be appreciated.

Voxengo Span… Free.
Put it in Lo-Fi Mode & you’re cool.
It puts Freq’s into Notes when you hover over the Peaks. Slap it on your Master.

Beat me to it! It really is a great tool. As a logic user I was always jealous of the one that comes with Ableton Live but once I was put on to Voxengo Span…I was once again a very happy Logic user.
Thanks for the reply guys, hadn’t thought about using a spectrum analyser in that way, will have a read through the other thread.

Got ya back! Haha!
I have installed Voxengo span, and I am running a kick through it.-
Where do you see what key it is in? I can’t find it?
I mean I can see a frequency, but then I have to find a frequency to key converter??
Also on a given bass drum there are 3 peaks next to each other on different freq. - which one do you go for if there are almost the exact same hight?
I tried to use abletons, but the span between C1 and C2 is soo small so you cant see exactly what key it is in.
For now I have used a sine wave to tune, but a tool that showed exactly what key what be sooo nice.
Or you could just get Logic!

Chill out.
And yes I believe has more features then Live. Considering that there is a plugin dedicated to pitch finding that Live doesn’t have is one there. But we have had this discussion before. I was making a joke.
