Hi everyone,br
br
So here are two relatively new tracks from me. The first one was a challenge that I did for an Ableton event. The challenge was to take a two second sample of white noise and make a track out of it. If there’s enough interest I’ll tell you how I managed it. If anyone feels inspired by it then I absolutely 100% recommend giving it a go, it’s a great way to practice sound design, and it makes you really think about how to sculpt each sound.br

EDIT: the rules of the challenge were to use a 2 second sample of white noise. You could use any audio and midi effects in Ableton, but no external VSTs or Ableton instruments.br

This is my latest track. This is the version I bounced this morning, but I’ve already written loads of notes about what to change on it. It’s a more progressive and mellow house track (not progressive like banging progressive, more like a chilled groove…). Anyway, keen to hear your thoughts on it. br

if you ask really nicely I’ll share the white noise challenge ableton project file so you can see how it was made
The first one is incredible considering the 2 second patch rule, very creative thinking. I wish I had time to do stuff like that!br

Second one sounds great as well, but I think the change of tone is not enough to keep it fresh throughout, needs something else to go with it… Maybe more with the bassline, like let it rip for a short while, kinda like Pjanoo’s change up.
