If I can add to this conversion as I have the same problem repeatedly and am in Logic too.
The undo doesnāt seem to work on anything.
For example accidentally, or intentionally, changing the āsubā patch by clicking the arrows left or right. Pressing undo doesnāt return it to the previous patch. Even more frustrating pressing the opposite direction to return back to what the patch was before brings up something completely different.
Undo doesnāt work if you change the pitch points on wave shaper or any of the usual moves I make but might want to return back to.
I just have to keep saving version of kicks Iām happy with before daring to make any changes as the undo function doesnāt work. Or not in an intuitive fashion if it does.
Should these things Iāve mentioned just āundoā or is it a glitch that need rectifying.
Hey @MDT I have tested it in Logic here and canāt replicate. Undo function is working for changed sub-patches, nodes, harmonics, etc. etc. What macOS and LPX version are you on? Also, what version of Kick do you have?
Thank you for jumping in, seems we never received any further feedback from the other user and that was from December 2024, thereās been updates since then.
So 1st question, are you up to date with the latest KICK 3 version V1.1.2 ??
From what I know, the Undo/Redo features is using a buffer for non destructive operations within KICK 3, so thereās some actions that you wonāt be able to āRedoā.
Could you please provide a step by step example we can try to reproduce here ?
Also, can you please let us know your system specs :
Intel or M chips ARM Mac ?
Mac OS version.
Logic Pro Version.
You might also want to try a Clean Install by re-downlaoding the latest version from your My Account/My Downloads/Plugins area and run the included UNINSTALLER before resintalling KICK 3 again.
The uninstaller wonāt delete your User Presets.
Thanks for letting us know, you can also shoot us an email at support :
Before I try uninstalling and reinstalling Iāve recorded you a loom that walks through everything and your questions. Iāll send by email though as it doesnāt allow on here to include a link.
I am on the latest version - V 1.1.2
Iām on an intel mac - iMac 2021 - 3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9 - 128 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Iāve worked it out from my end mate, thank for getting back to me - hereās where the confusion was coming.
I was clicking the āUndoā button not the back arrows. From a UI perspective having a big Undo button the most noticeable thing suggests thatās what you press to undo an action. thatās what both I and the original user āKees1ā (I assume) were referring to.
One of the things that I regularly did is click of the sub patch labelled āsubā by accident using the right arrow to skip to the next āWoodyā. When I click the left arrow to go back it takes me to a different patch āTR809 03ā and āsubā isnāt to be found anywhere.
So with both that and me clicking the wrong button (the undoā button to try and āundoā) it was causing friction with my use of it.
The arrows on the sub patch still make it impossible to find the patch āsubā again if I click off but now Iāve noticed the back undo arrows I can use them.
Sorry for the delayed reply and thanks for your update on this and your email to support, it will be replied there as well.
OK got it ! Itās actually easy to get confused by this inside Logic indeed.
Logic is embedding plugins inside itās own window display where you have access to those Redo/Undo controls, but not all plugins parameters will be linked to those controls or be in focus to respond to this.
So while itās gonna work for some KICK parameters like Pitch or Pan knobs ( among others, itās just an example ), you wonāt have a full access to all parameters with Redo/Undo, so yes, you need to use the Backward/Forward arrows on the plugin itself. For comparison, you can see on the screenshots that KICK 3 only has itās own window inside Ableton Live for example, so yep, easy to get confused and just something to keep in mind with Logic
