Good stuff dude,maybe a little more melodies…
Thanks hanks for listening mate! ill try and include more melodies in my next track. How was the overall sound?
I agree, production sounds great. Probably a few more forward melodies to help drive it along.
Soudning good… Think the kick is a tiny bit Heavy… is it a sample or are you using our Kick Plugin? also think the main leads could use more reverb… or maybe the reverb is being sidechained and isnt washing over enough. If you have Valhallah room the Bright Cistern preset with the decay time shortened to around 2secs is my go to verb for epic trance.
Heres a 138 track im messing with with the reverb on and then off you can hear the ridiculous amounts i have on.
Heres the Bass elements soloed… Notice the quite agressive fast bass with a fizzy top… a lot of the current stuff has that vibe.
I have quite agressive EQ on it so its not flabby… ive attached the preset below
Escape Bass.preset (1.1 KB)
Thanks for the feedback guys! I made the kick using the technique from the bjorn Akkeson tutorial! The reverb is being heavily sidechained I’ll try and ease back next time! I only have ableton reverb at the minute but I think I’ll have to buy valhalla very soon! I didn’t realise how much reverb was actually used its way more than I’d usually use ha! Thanks.
Heres a pretty close recreatiion of my valhallah preset made in ableton.
Big trance Verb.adg (6.2 KB)
Your a legend mate! I’ll give it a try after work! hiw many layers would you go for on the lead sounds?
I have 2 in this one… a saw and piano… but it really depends on what you are going for.
Theres a saw arp in there to which is gives some melodic elements too.
Thanks I usually go for two! I’ll post my new track when it’s finished
Phil thanks so much for these examples you posted. that reverb example has literally blown my mind to the power reverb can have in a track. Ive never heard it so clearly demonstrated. the other elements feel downright simple without its presence.
Im having a little trouble breaking down whats all in the bass sample you posted though. Is it 3 separate layers for the one bass part ? i think im hearing a clean low end bass, a frothy mid layer and a very fizzy top layer as well.
This is great timing for these examples as Im about to start Bjorn Akessons uplifting trance tutorial today haha
Also Andy i tried to take a listen to the tracks you just posted, but soundcloud says it cant find them? are they private by chance?
yes ha ill un private my bass attempt now if you want to listen…post me your bjorn akkeson attempt when youve finished be interestig to hear
@Andymac Yeah im only getting the bass one here too… sounds good tho… i think the heavy open hat is slowing things down a bit… maybe get it balanced a bit more with some 16th hats
@lokid1Yes there are 3 parts… the subby bit. a middle acid bit and the fizzy fast bit.
I can get to the “Lead” soundcloud file. The others seem to still be “not found” for me.
The lead part sounds great though. It sounds big and full to my ears. That verb seems to really blend itself well into the track.
