I’ve never been able to get this 100% right
when I warp the track in session view then drop it in to arrangement, speed up abletons temp the warped track sounds funny, like the kick is phases or other glitches
can any tell me what I’m doing wrong or how to fix this?
- 1 i always have trouble doing this as well.
What warp mode are you using?
I get bad results on fully mixed songs or melodic stem when I forget to change the mode from beats to something like repitch or complex. Repitch will sound dodgy now and again if there are lots of little changes in tempo after your warp.

well I’ve never used ableton for DJing but would like to give it a go. pretty point if is has issues - surly must be a way to get it 100% right as there are loads of people use it for this?
i get pretty decent results when I just change the tempo to what I want and then find the first marker and do “warp from here straight”… but there are some occasions where it doesnt work properly.
i think like anything else it just takes practice.
Ok sounds like you will be warping whole songs - so I would use repitch or complex pro.
Use repitch if you want to emulate a decks kind of setup - if you change the tempo of the song then its key will change. Use complex pro if you want to keep the key the same when changing the tempo.
Not sure what version of Live you have?
Here is an old warping tut for djing on the site:-

and an up-to-date Live8 one here:-

If these don’t help out post back and I’ll dig out something else.
