First off, the Electro / Fidget House Bassline Tutorial in Tech Tip #6 is awesome. Really cool pitch bending sound to keep the bassline interesting. But I have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me out with…
I listen to a lot of electro house however I am starting to learn more about it’s composition and arrangement. How would you introduce a sound like this in a track?
It seems to me that this would be a “bassline as a lead” sound but I’m not really sure how it would be utilized in a track. How would you suggest a bassline like this to be used in an actual song?
Can anyone give some examples of tracks with similar sounds or have basslines that lead the track? I’d love to understand what other types of sounds would complement a bassline like this.

that particular sound, i would literally drop it in from the get go. - maybe 16 bars of a single kick drum, then the kick drum and the bassline drop in.
but it all comes down to personal taste, i like sudden changes like that. many people don’t.

Thanks for the input bryan… would there be 1 or 2 reference tracks or artists that come to mind that have a similar sound / style?
Here’s one that’s kind of in the same vein: Crookers - Knobbers - YouTube
Dunno how they got the high part but it does the same fidget bass/lead thing. Really cool track, Crookers are great.
