Vengeance Mastering Suite: Multiband Compressor

so let me get this straight, once you buy the product as well as the dongle, the dongle always has to be in while using the Vst? thats reeeeeeetarted.
jon_fisher (03/10/2010)

roben (03/10/2010)
Pirates have already cracked the dongle issue, you have a bit of software that runs in your start up that tricks the software into thinking you have a dongle plugged in.

Just something i read up about… :Wow:
although this may be true, when used like this each application needs a different app running in the back ground and has a dramatic effect on your machines Cpu.

and lets face it, the dongles only there as a deterrent, like putting a anti-theft device on your car if the guy taking it really wants it he’ll get it. On a second note who can really blame vengeance and Mutekki for protecting what little they can after all out of all the producers and amateur producers i know 99% of them have vengeance samples on their machines which in turn only about 30% of those are paid for.

Another way to look at this is that the dongle its self took (or at least cubase did) nearly 2 years to crack which in that time gave yamaha the grace of two years worth of sales. the last time i read anything about Cubase, The programmers were saying that for every 1 copy sold there was 5 copies illegally installed.
Intersting read that mate.

Although with software it’s certainly another topic in itself but there are plenty of producers who’ve bought their DAW after having the opportunity to use it for a while via cracked.

Because lets face it, how do we really know what DAW is right for us without getting the opportunity to first use it fully without restrictions for a while.

Sure there are still people out there who wont buy anything, but they’re the kind of people who probably would never have bought in the first place, so there is no lost revenue from those people. Then there are those that ‘try before buy’, the problem is that ‘demos’ more often than not only allow limited access and functionality, which isn’t enough to become a deciding factor for someone in whether they’re comfortable forking out £££ of their hard earnt money.

new product… give it s month and so see what happens

the demo is now available if anyone is still interested

I’ll give it a go in next few days

have to admit,

dongle is a big put off for me

i do my production on a laptop, and i like to be spontaneous - when i want to start i want to start.

i dont want to have to go and look for my dongle - i also dont want it poking out the side of my laptop while its on my knee!

damn dongles

to be fair i think the demo’s these days are really good most if not all give 14 or more days which ok may not be great for some but most of us are more than happy about that. rewind the clock only around 10-15 years and you would have had no demo’s maybe 5 mins on a hardware synth in the shop before you dropped a stack of cash, as a society we expect something for nothing all the time.
