Vst's and sound selection

when you guys are laying out your latest speaker smasher what are some of your goto vsts"instruments". Also as far as sound selection what are some good guidelines as far as must have instruments… such as what do you like for baselines, melodies, chord progressions, etc? Im currently using sub boom bass, massive, and sylenth… Im looking for ones on par with those or better… Also Im on a macbook pro with ableton… What you guys got for me?

For me my main synths are razor, predator, Ana, massive, and fm8 which I’m trying to learn at the moment! Dcam synth squad is supposed to be top drawer! Bt u can’t go wrong with Ana mate great synth great price!

I use quite a lot of what’s onboard in Ableton Suite.br
Apart from that:br
Sylenth1 for lots of synth pad sounds.br
LoungeLizzard for the keys (piano organ)br
Korg M1 Oldskool sounds and texturesbr
EVM Bassline (Free) for sweet natural basslinesbr
br
br
Besides that, I spend quite a lot of time carefully selecting the desires sounds. Sampled or from VST. I don’t want to solve clashing, etc with EQ where I can easily prevent this by selecting the right sounds.

Synthmaster 2.6. Unbelievable synth. I can’t imagine you could ever run out sound possibilities using it

I am running Sylenth and Massive. They are my go to for melodies and bass. Also I am using samples from the Vengeance packs

Hmmm It depends really, Ive started to use a lot of ableton suite sounds (I installed all the packs that you get) for a lot of my stuff.br
br
Other than that Sylenth always makes an appearance, Nexus (have to use patches but they are normally well done) and sometimes massive/FM8 (bit of a bitch to learn, youtube tuts and theres tons to learn!).br
br
Ive started to try ANA on my new rig but havent bought it yet (maxed out my old system :P).br
br
Other than that I normall find alot are the same just re packaged, but I would say one of the best tips are you eq/compress each sound to help it slot into the harmonic range. It really is suprising how much you can squeeze in with some careful sound crafting :stuck_out_tongue:
