Hi guys,br
br
Just wondering if you could have a listen to this track I have recently finished making please. I have been over and over it so many times now that I’m unable to make any informed decisions and feel like I might be missing something critical so need a second pair of FRESH ears to have a listen and let me know if I’ve got something or not…br
br
Thanks in advance and all comments are appreciated ;)br

Hey, In my opinion your piece sounds well put together. Your mixing is on point and your synths sound great. I think that you should have your drop at 3:17 rather than a double drop. It just sounds right and it fooled me because I expected to hear the drop there rather than to hear and feel another drop. If you do choose to use a double drop I believe your vocal stutters are not tight enough. The chopped vocals sound a tad off, or a bit slow. Are they quantized midi? Anyways, over all its a great sounding record! Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing more!
Hey Jimmy, thanks for the feedback! Mission accomplished with the double drop then! lol That’s the kind of thing that I was goin for after watching the Stutters tutorial (great vid BTW)br
br
The vocal was literally just cut up, no quantizing involved to give it that natural feel, but I’ll defo go back and take a look at that. Like I said in my first post my ears are just so used to hearing the track that I’m not really hearing it anymore (if that makes sense) :hehe:br

Hi Phil would love your take on this please
Hey Great vibe in the track, Its really groovy the transitions and arrangement sounds spot on. The only thing i thought about was the vocals were a bit low and not as clear as i wanted them to be, and the bass sounded a tad bit loud. Might been the bass that were masking the vocal part also. Try lowering the bass 1 or 2 dB see if that fixes the problem!.
I dont think the chords are in the right key for the vocal… think if you go that sorted it would sound much better as the rest seems really good.

You must have ears like a bat Phil! :Dbr

I’ll have a look into the chords and vocals arrangement when I get home later. Thanks for taking the time to listen.
Hi Phil, I had a look at the vocal and it says its Am, does that means its A Minor, as in (A, B,C,D,E,F,G,A) with no flats or sharps? If thats the case then my chords are not far off that as they are in E-Minor so the only difference is an F sharp instead of an F. I tried amending to an F but it sounds really dissonant, like it doesnt belong.br
br
Sorry if I’m wrong about this, I’m still trying to get my head around chords and music theory. :crazy:br
br
Could you let me know which scale I am supposed to be using to match the vocals to the chords so that I can understand what you mean, as to my unpolished ears it sounds fine. :hehe:
If you post up the vocal i will have a play and see what key fits bestbr
maybe even post the midi files of your chords and ill try to fit it
Yeah that’d be great Phil, I’ll fire them over to you later on after I finish work.
Hi Phil just sent you an E-mail, let me know if all 3 files have managed to make it through. The midi files are tiny but the vocal is 11MB so might get stuck along the way knowing Hotmail…
Yeah received and fixed. should be arriving with you shortly.br
br
Your last chord was a minor which didnt fit to my ears… just changed it to a major.br
br
I ran the vox through autotune as they where a bit flat which was throwing things off too.br

Hey en1gma this track sounds awesome to me man! It sounds really well produced…I especially loved that huge sweep and the impact to kick the vocals off sounded great
Thanks James mate, that means a lot!
