nice one for offering him some advice .you both have valid points but try not to flame each other this will put other people off putting in their opinions on other things im sure that we would all want more but… insulting each other is gonna get us nowhere !
You are absolutely right. I do understand that we are given loads of info for 100 dollars. The tutorials, synth presets, knowledge and etc is awesome. I just did not think it would be a bad idea to have a tip a day on this site. I feel as though I’m the only one, so I’m fine with letting the majority win.
your points are valid man just dont get into a slanging match !
a tip a day would be great but i do know that there are some proper cool vids on the way and this is what the sa peeps have been busy with im sure that once this burst of vids are done there will be some cool stuff on the tips section !
samuelalbritton (6/29/2009)
There are so many tips about each instrument and tips about music that can be given. Plus, each member here how to fork out one hundred dollars. I understand this is not a lot of money to a business but to an individual it is alot of money.
Also, after your done watching all the videos this sight becomes pointless. I would love to wake up to a new tip each day instead of maybe two or three a week. There are seven days in a week and if i’m only learning three of those days, I’m not doing so good…
All I am saying is that for $7.50 per month (half the price of a UK magazine) you get tutorials directed and aimed at what you want to do. Everyone wants more (naturally) but there is only so much then can handle. Sorry for the name calling, I was just reacting, but I have been making music and playing instruments for 20 years. If you want to achieve your goals, you need to practice the things you’ve learned. My suggestion is pick up the book and read it (its amazing), and practice the things you’ve learned in the tutorials. There are alot of tech tips within the HTSL videos, you just have to look.
I would love to see the youtube video of your screencast. Everyone (myself included) is here to help you achieve your goals (whatever they may be). We all help each other out. This is a phenomenal community to be a part of. We all ask questions and everyone chips in their own brand of knowledge to answer one anothers questions. But if you have a problem and don’t think youre getting your moneys worth, email Kev and I’m sure he will work something out with you, right Raymond
In helping achieve your goals, and anyone elses, I have alot of videos that I have collected on production if you want them. My brand of helping each other out.
But please dont criticize the site. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

i think everyone wants more but most of us are happy for what we get for our money. when we complain on the forums phil beats us repeatedly so we try not to ask for much. if you only new what you have done by asking for more. i only hope and pray that bry doesn’t get to read any of this
I’m personally shocked we get so much already for our money!!
Anyways there is so many tuts constantly coming out that I honestly can’t keep up with them all in between the practicing, production and general other things that take up my life.
Tech Tips are only small but they take planning behind them, they are also FREE to anyone that visits this site so you don’t even need a membership to view the Tech Tips.
They’re an awesome added bonus in between the already fantastic and in depth tutorials we already have.
I do however agree a tech tips thread would be great, where we could all share tips. We don’t have to always have tips in video format, so even maybe a ‘tip of the day’ posted on the front page each day would be awesome and gives us something to practice and learn.
I’m a subscriber. As I said before, I’m fine with the decision of the forum. Everyone but me wants a tip every day. So I understand that majority wins. ALl though I disagree with the decision, I accept that majority is awarded.
samuelalbritton & howiegrove both you guys need to tone it down, this forum is meant for all users to interact with each other in a friendly & helpful environment. We will not tolerate abuse towards any of our members.
regarding the tech tips, ideally we would love to put these out daily. you have to take into consideration though that we offer these tutorials for free and our main focus is to provide full courses for our subscribers.
This involves the preparation recording and editing of all of our courses. When one course is finished, we begin prep on the next, and then churn out the tech tips along side this.
We also have to update and maintain the website, manage the forums and answer all of our users questions.
If however the demand for tech tips outgrows the demand for full courses then obviously our focus will shift to producing more of these!
We have 23 videos on How to sound like Electro coming this week including a full arrangement section! One thing i know you were all asking for!
further to this we have How to sound like Minimal tech house coming up,
and then a full Logic course almost complete as well.
we are aiming to provide tutorials on what the users want the most from the site, and as i stated above. if the demand shifts, so will our focus!
Hopefully the electro tutorial will keep you ticking over, but if more tech tips is what you want, more tech tips is what you shall receive! maybe this calls for a poll!
I’d just like to jump in on here and say that i feel there is too many videos, does that sound crazy?!!? probably, yea.
maybe i don’t have as much time as others to come on here, and i know the majority of this is techy\electro style music whereas i would prefer hard house, for the money you really can’t get any better. i’ve been with SA for 2 months now and have learnt tonnes, and still have a huge backlog of videos to get through on this site!!
so please give the SA guys a break you had the option to be fully aware of what you were buying into when you joined this site. i’m just glad i didn’t pay £800+ for other online courses and in centre classes that don’t even specialise in certain genres of music.
i’m also certain that as this site continues to grow (we all know it is) the guys will start putting out more stuff than you can get your mits on and will in turn respond to people’s individual requests too.
I gotta say I’m very happy with the return I’m getting on the $90/year for SA. To be honest, $7/mo. really isn’t that much money. That’s one less wasted drink at a bar per month, or cooking a meal at home (and watching an SA video while eating it) instead of going out.
I personally prefer the tutorials over the tips. I’m sure you’ll find much more than 23 tips in the 23 electro videos~
