I was watching a video by a well known deep house producer on youtube and he was talking about using idrum because of the choke groups on the drums which stop one sound playing before the next starts in the same way as an mpc does.br

Do you know anything more about this Phil and is it possible to do it in Ableton?
Yeah you can do it in ableton drum rack but its much easier just using the midi note length to control the length of the hits. br

I can see its use with hardware sequencers like the mpc where getting in and editing note lengths is much harder.

In Ableton drum rack make sure that Chain list is showing (Icon on the top left of the drum rack), then select IO (icon on the bottom left of the drum rack)./PPThen in the chain list you will see the choke group pull down. Set two or more samples to the same number and they will choke.
