I’ve noticed that most of the tutorials on SA are done using Ableton Live and was wondering if most of the forum members are also on Just live. Do you all use just one DAW or Several bits of software for audio editing, Mastering, song writing, producing and mixing ?
I tend to use:
Traktor Pro - Dj Mixing
Logic Pro - Song Writing
Bias Peak - Audio Editing
Live - Making Drum Loops
Reason - Starter Pad
Sound Track Pro - Mastering
Ableton
Logic
Traktor occasionally for nostalgic purposes and promos
Sonar occasionally for some of the plugs…
Raymond
Ableton Live 7
Reason 4.0
FL Studio 8 XXL Producer
Not tried Logic yet but looking into it
I use Ableton for dj rather than traktor as it’s a lot better for editing your mix after you have done it
I use Live7, but I’m proficient with Reason… I love VST’s though so it’s all about Live for me.
I know it aint the best when competing with the big boys like ableton and cubase but i find FL Studio 8 XXL such a breeze to use…atm i would use that for the majority of thing and ableton for smaller things.
I used to use Cubase SX but since moving to Live 7 i’ve not looked back. Hoping to get Live 8 in the near future!
I also use Cool Edit Pro 2 to help with my radio production.
Ableton Live 7
Logic Pro 8
Bias Peak LE 6
I also use the following -
Sylenth 1
Novation V-Station
Novation Bass Station
Togu Audioline UNO62
Waldorf PPG Wave
IK Multimedia Classik Studio Reverbs
Sonalksis EQ, Compressor and Gate
Camelspace
PSP Vintage Warmer2
Arald Storm
SFX Machine
Texan Bar
Cadbury’s Twirl

is PPG any good. if i is i’ll dig it out, got boxed version somewhere will all updates paid £1.50 for it on a carboot sale hadn’t ever bothered to install it lol
One of my favorites because no one uses it, so the sounds are quite unique.
It’s a pain in the *** to program but spend some time and it will pay dividends!!
Waldorf synths are awesome actually and much underrated. A friend of mine has a Blofeld and its got a great sound.
What I really want is a Kurzweil synth in plug in format :hehe:
I use Cubase and also have:
Bass Station
V-Station
Groove Agent 2
Hypersonic 2
i just use Ableton maybe once i mastered Ableton ill look and learning another program, but so far Ableton can do everything i want.
I use live7 . sometimes i use reason 4 mostly for thor but since i got moog mod no point in using it really.
vsts moog mod
albino
predator
moog mod
ozone for more punch
and oxford plugs
Only Ableton Live 7 but I own Cubase, Flstudos 8 and Reason.
I never liked Reason so I do not use it.
I want to buy a Mac just to try Logic and see if i like it. I also have Protools but hardly ever use it.

Using Ableton at the moment. Been using LIVE for about 7months or so now, was using Cubase before that. Really glad I moved over to Ableton as for some reason my tracks are sounding alot more pro sounding. Also using M-Audio BX5a monitors, really want some new ones tho as IMO these are not doing it for me.
