What is the best Midi Keyboard for a beginner using Ableton

I am looking for a keyboard to add to my computer and am wondering what would be the best one for me to buy as a beginner. Are the cheap ones all basicly the same. Please Help

I got an mpk25 which is pretty good but the pads let it down



ive heard good things about the korg minis …which are cheap



Also look at the novation stuff… supposed to be good too

Its difficult because it depends on your goals.



I’ve got an Axiom 25 which is basically a keyboatd with some knobs and pads. But you might find your workflow is better with something like a novation launch pad which is loike 100 bucks and generally amazing…



I bought my Axiom early on in my production experience. If I was to start again, I might go more for something like a launchpad/APC40 or a M-audio trigger finger.



That’s just in my experience though.

I’ve got nothing bad to say about my M Audio Oxygen 25, they go for about a hundred bucks.

+1 to this… I bought the 49Pro just because it was on sale at guitar center and I’ve realized that I really don’t need a full keyboard. So now it sits and collects dust cuz it’s too big and I don’t have room for it yet.

I have the Oxygen 49. It works great.

Im a fan of the Akai stuff, personally. Always been good to me with build quality and such.

i got an axiom 25 . Drum pads , knobs and lots of Midi Commands for advanced controls .

it is not cheap but they are really good investment if you want something that will last u for a while. ohh did i mentioned semi weighted keys ?:slight_smile:
