I am going off to college and I need a laptop anyway so I decided to get one that also works for DJ’ing. (I Use the Numark CDJ Mixdeck so I pretty much just want to hook them up together for more effect and maybe serato of traktor, beatmatching programs)
I know that most people would say Mac, but I am very much not a fan of Mac even though I understand its better for the arts but mainly the problem is it costs WAY too much, so what PC laptops do you guys recommend?
Thanks for your time.

hmmm they all look really good but I can’t decide, have you had any experience these/do you recommend one more than the others? thanks
Rain or Adk they are especially made for audio.
It’s up to you. How big you want the screen 13’‘,15’‘,17’’ or how much ram.
RAM 4gb basic,8gb recommended.
*some have FW other usb, look into that to match your audio interface connection.
*customize your buy to fit your demands.
Ok thanks a lot man! I decided that I am going to get the 15’’ adk with:
OS: Windows 7 Home 32-bit
Ram: 4gb
Optical Drive: CD/DVD Reader
Processor: I think the 2.5 dual (I am not sure if that is enough for ableton/dj’ing with a cdj at the same and a controller but idk if the laptop will take the cpu hit)
Hard Drive: 500gb Seagate 16mb
And no optional stuff
Do you think this is good enough to run ableton, a cdj, and a controller at the same time without any lag or spikes? Thanks again for your time dude, your a real help.

EDIT: Oh and I need to use a firewire port and i see that this is usb only but I can just use an adapter right? its like 10 bucks
For now ableton8.2.2 run in 32bit mode and can only use max 4gb of ram.
I would recommend fire-wire build in, the adapter card for firewire costs like 50$ I think.
A win7 64bit can use more than 4gb of ram.Not all plugins work on win7 64bit.Focusrite saffire pro 14 or 24 or presonus firestudio mobile are good audio interfaces.I don’t recommend m-audio,alesis,behringer inerfaces. To keep this laptop running smooth, keep it off the internet and avoid malware. For protection check software such as: malwarebytes and avira free antivirus.I think ableton should run fine on this system.Ableton is less cpu hungry than Apple Logic.

the lower end models of adk dont support firewire id have to spend like 700 bucks more lol
i know what 64bit does, i already have a focusrite 24 dsp i can just bring that to gigs. I have Eset nod32.

I think this is a mistake. I use W7 64 bit with Ableton and VSTs running is 32 bit mode and it works perfectly. My PC has more than 4GB RAM, which means that Ableton has the whole 4GB to run in, rather than just a share of the 3.25GB left as it does in W7 32bit OS, it has to share that 3.25(ish)GB with the OS and anything else running.
Also soon, hopefully, they will bring out Ableton 9 and it will be 64 bit (please!) and this will be a really pain for you.
Get W7 64 bit and 8GB RAM FTW.
if you get a pc laptop and traktor you may want to use this:

my ableton doesnt even use 2gb right now…technically no program uses more than 4 in the world so there is absolutely no point…also i can switch them out any time so if it ever gets to the point (lol like in 5 years at least) that i need more than 4 ill just switch

You still need to check!! Just because your pc “says” I can run the software it soesnt nessassarily mean that it can!! Trust me Latency issues are all to common with traktor
