Whats the best replication?

^^^^^ for live bass? i’ve been listening to some great house tracks recently and most if not all seem to have so kind of live bass guitar playing, would love to make something like those tracks but don’t really wanna take 3 years out of my life learn to play bass guitar lol.

probably Trillian, but check this video out:

I generally use Trilogy Bass, which is awesome, but most of their basses have too much slap noise for me.

There’s an awesome bass refill for Reason, but you have to use reason, which is balls (it’s an official propellerheads one called live bass or something)

The Nexus rompler has some good basses too. I believe they’re called ebass

Top Post by the way sean, that’s awesome

Trilogy has been discontinued and replaced with trillian, trillian (i’ve been told) is very cpu hungry on mac.

it’s good to share

Jon, average patch takes 15-20% of my MBP 2.53 (late 2008 model), but…

…Duplicate…Freeze…Flatten…

You will never want another bass library…you will also never get anything done cos it’s just great to sit there auditioning the patches :stuck_out_tongue:

All tho for what you need you can probably find much cheaper option.

thanks for the info, maybe worth the investment later down the road, as it is i’ve just remembered that i have Kontakt and it has a huge library of guitar basses  teach me for having so many plug-ins

spoiled for choice

…and this whole thing started with a single tb-303

Eastwest - Ministry of Rock.

It’s real multisampled bass guitars. They even have different name brands that have a slightly different sound. You can also change some of the parameters to tweak things around. I might be wrong, but I don’t think the above responses are multisamples. IMO, the only way to get that sound is to use a sample of a bass guitar or buy one and record it in.

yes with 35GB library for trillian and over 40gb for kontakt they are single samples in C :stuck_out_tongue:

Sean, check it out. Eastwest has won numerous awards for their software. Trillian, although it is great, IMO is not near as good as Ministry of Rock. MOR has a 20gb library and the bass guitars alone are:

  • Fender P-Bass Custom,
  • Fender 5 String,
  • Specter
  • Kubiki
  • Musicman

All recorded thru an Ampeg SVT rig and an Ashdown rig

Not saying that Trillian is bad, but if you want the best, you are gonna have to pony up the hard drive space. You can always go buy a bass guitar too!

both of these cost way over £100 lol way too much cash for someone that only wants to play a bassline, i’m sure i could get a good sound going with Audio Bassline and Guitar Rig, just thought i would ask to see if there were any cheap options.

btw Drum & bass rig that Ian Carey and some others have use in future music videos costs £59

to be fair if its good enough for him then its good enough for me

plus it will stop you guys getting your claws out :w00t:

lol…Howie…to put it simply I dont care :stuck_out_tongue:

I din’t get trillian for its guitars! All tho it has plenty of them.

I was making a simple point that virtually all modern sample based instruments are ‘multisampled’

And probably there is a little difference between them!

Guess I’ll be asking for some Trillian action from Santa!

they both have some serious fire power when it comes down to bass, after a bit of research though i would opt for the Trillian simply put it has all the wave forms from all the major synth players as well as some cool samples.

I really like it, I haven’t spent that much time with it yet, but the interface is nice and is very easy to mangle any sound you wish, the library not only has the classic stuff but also sounds from things like Dave Smith Tetra

See, I did get it only for its guitars. I was just arguing your point. No need to get all flustered  I thought this was about guitar bass, right?

Understand that I’m not knocking Trillian.

its really more about your processing techniques than buying expensive libraries/or romplers to play somewhat simple basslines.
