I have been seeing many people just requesting or releasing Mash ups. is not that the same as Remixes?
As far as I know the difference is:
- Mash-up; a combination of 2 or more tracks in one. Simplest out there are often original versions with a vocal of some other song.
For instance this one:
- A remix is just one dj/producers interpretation of a track.
- Then there is the bootleg. Bootlegs used to be illegal recordings of live shows. You can find bootlegs from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. Nowadays people often use the name bootleg for an edit/remix/mash-up one made for private (or really selective) use.
_ And finally the edit. This is often a re-arrangement of the original track. With no or very few additions of extra sounds/instruments. But the mastering could be very different as well. Dimitri from Paris makes quite a lot of edits of old disco/soul/motown tracks.

Thanks . For clearing that out
