Whats your Nationality?

just wondering

Mexican  and prob the only one here

English

for a site based in northern ireland this might get controversial !!!

hope not…

the law says i can have an irish and a british passport

depends which ones cheaper at the minute!

Haha!

I’m Irish - Republic.

Born in UK, so I could get either I suppose in theory…

Less people probably get kidnapped / beheaded with an Irish PP, so I think I’ll stick with that

English but able to get a Burmese passport - so either way I am screwed when it comes to being kidnapped and beheaded

Are you a Ghurka Slender?

LOL - Myanmar, where did it all go wrong? :)

I’m confused - Ghurkas are Nepal? Maybe?

MMM… Too lazy to Google.

I Born in Peru but grew up in USA .

Yeah Ghurka’s from nepal and north india - my grandfather who was british owned a railway building company and married a half Indian/Burmiese woman (my grandmother obviously) my mum was born in Burma abot two weeks before the Japs invaded so the woman were flown out to Ghana and my grandfather fought out there.

Its pretty wierd as I look completely caucasion but some off my cousins and aunts and uncles on my mother side can look very dark skin nepalase looking

Shame I would love too go to Burma and see where my mum was born but would not support the current regime there

Wow Man… Thats amazing. Some story. Mine would be nothing as interesting as that. Cool!!

Such a shame whats happened there. Total mess.

My Grandparents would have been fighting you lot (War of Independence) and then eachother (Civil War) - and our Country is a mess too, may as well rename it Myanmar II :hehe:

Had other relatives fighting in the US Army Air Force & also the British Army - Both Wars. One died in the Somme.

Nationality is so confusing, cos you choose sides ultimately. Sh!t when you consider that people are just people & you get on, or not - normally without having to resort to Armageddon with Aerosmith Soundtracks

Heard they have a great railway in Burma these days… Thats what you get when you pay badly!

Did your Grandfather fight in the Jungle? I’d say that part of the Campaign was extra terrible, given the conditions that they had to fight in - never mind having to fight the Japs.

Hey! Leave my Mum out of it.

Both my grandfathers were vey cagey when it came down too the 2nd world war - my fathers father volunteered in the spanish civil war fighting the Franco (I hasten to add) and escaped with his life back to London - got my grandmother pregnant with my dad and was drafted in too the british army - he was on a ship going the long way round africa to fight in the desert where he was seriously thinking of deserting as he already had his skinfull off killing but decided not to becasue of my dad - which I think he never really forgave him.

As for my other grandfather when my mum etc… were evacuated all the men were left to make there way too india in an occupied country and I know out off 80 only a handfull made it - then he fought with the british but never joined up

The war certainly messed up my mothers family as I know they were very well off but when the war was over they lived in a tiny council flat in Peckham and he used to work for british rail in some manual labor role

But your right wars are totally daft, just so glad we live through a fairly peacefull time but it really saddens me when I hear a soldier getting killed in Afganastan for a reasons that make no sense at all too me at all :frowning:

There you go. Total change so Mate.

Peckham - You a Trotter?

Thing about Wars is, that they do make sense in a way at the start - but after a while, its impossible to end without winning.

The whole Afganastan / Iraq thing… Always makes me wonder how much an influence the lack of censorship in the media / soldiers access to phones etc… has.

The “Enemy” always appears to have so much info to hand… and The West have fcuk all on them.

Bring back the Blackout - LOL

Blackout Crew!! :hehe:
