Hey Sonic Academy team!:)br

I just signed up to the site recently and absolutely love the tutorials!!! My one problem is though I don’t really know where to start. What’s the best order to go about tackling all these? I do the tutorials and I can obviously follow along, however when you guys start talking about technical stuff such as compressor settings, bringing in reverb, cutoffs, etc br
I feel like I’m just copying and pasting and not getting any real knowledge. Any feedback would be appreciated!!! br

Thanks again Brittain
We all start somewhere and it’s pretty much the same for everyone - that feeling of “oh I don’t know what this does or what I’m doing here”. It does get easier with time and practice though and you always keep learning. br

Start with the beginners guides to whatever DAW you’re using. Then move on “Beginner” level tutorials. There’s a filter on the main tutorial screen that let’s you see each level of tutorial.
I agree with the above reply, or have a look at whatever dance genre you are into or which one you fancy having a go off producing. Great vids on here so you can’t go wrong.

I felt the same way at the beginning…I used to follow the tutorials religiously from start to finish but now I find I rarely open them! The technical stuff from Sonic Academy is the best stuff in my opinion Just keep following the tutorials and trust me you’ll find yourself working on a new track all the sudden and saying “Okay this needs to be auto-filtered here, this needs more compression, if I added this it will sound like this” and thats when it gets really fun
Welcome to the world of producing! The beauty of it is that you can go as deep down the rabbit hole as you want to! :Dbr

My advise to you though would be to follow the beginner tutorials and then have a go at creating a few tracks yourself. Dont worry too much about needing to know what everything does at first. Try using loops etc. Just get a feel for how to arrange them and then when you feel confident doing that, then you can decide what area you wanna start learning next! :w00t:
