Just curious to know what most people use here.br
br
It’s multiple choice so if you do use more than one DAW regularly then vote for the ones you use.br
br
Im back to using Cubase… Ableton 9 just didnt do it for me.br
br
so glad i did… cubase is just better for getting stuff finished.
Logic 9, but the bugs are doing my head in, so considering switching
I have Ableton 9 and Logic 9. I am finding myself using Logic 9 more though, i just find it easier than Ableton to get things done and not stuck in a loop. I also think it sounds better but that maybe the Mac instead of my old sony pc.
Ableton, just a fan of the work flow really…
No one made the switch to Logic X yet then?

I loooove Live 9. Funnily I only moved to Ableton (7) as I liked the tutorial videos here on it. I was on Cubase before.

br
Im totally sure why i dont like it… although it seems to take a lot longer to load up and be useable.br
br
I guess i was just hoping for more on the arranging / mixing side. instead they added candy features that you would use once in a blue moon to impress your friends.

br
yeah I find it’s really slow to load up now… does my head in! br
br
I think it might be my default template, but havent yet simplified it to try and make it quicker
Interesting that I’m the only one who uses Reason!
Studio One, brilliant piece of software with a very intuitive layout so it was quick easy to pick up after I switched from ableton 8!

Ha I bought live 9 as so many tuts here used it! Make your mind up fellas! ;)br
br
I actually like it though, the way you compose the components up at the bottom is really nice.br
br
I also have logic X but not spent much time in it.
I used Logic 9 at College for 2 years, I gave it a chance and the benefit of doubt but for me I just couldn’t stand it. Maybe though that was because I’d been all these years an avid Ableton user and prefer it’s workflow.br
br
I kinda preferred the ‘sound’ that came from Logic but I don’t know whether that was subjective, as I can’t see how 24bit WAV audio could sound better from one DAW than another. Interestingly though, I felt like there was an improvement in ‘sound’ on Live 9 from 8, again surely this must have been subjective and not an actual reality?
I still think for beginners and intermediate Ableton is by far the quickest and easiest to get ideas up and running.br
br
Its just when you get to that last 10% i really struggle with the arrange page and mixing.br
br
Meh they all do the same things now, I just use ableton because I prefer it to the others, mind you I use fl studio sometimes too I just find it fun!

br
Yeah - what is this I read about Logic “sounding better” than other DAWs?br
br
I’ve read it in a few interviews with producers…
I think that’s a load of old balls:)
I’ve just gone back to Cubase as well. To my ears it just produces a better finished product. Especially when using 3rd party plugins.
