Which Drum kit plugins (if any) do you prefer?

GURU has been discontinued and replaced with Geist (which is essentially GURU v2, but we rewrote the whole thing & decided it was time for a new name).

Grab the demo from FXpansion - Geist , I’m happy to try & answer any questions in this thread.

All the best,

Angus.

Awesome. Will buy the new 1 this week! Thanks for spending the time to post & clear it up for us!

Wow, thanks for the feedback–if for no other reason, I’ll check out Geist because FXPansion’s customer service rocks–you’re the only company that made a peep on this thread

+1. that was exactly my thinking as well. I already am a GURU & DCAM customer.

Does StylusRMX not count as a drum machine lol? Im gonna go and say none in your list, I personally use Impulse I mean its alright like… Ill tell you an awesome vst tho that ****s all over Guru… Xfer Nerve, its just class in-a-box!

True the Xfer Nerve does look class - but I promised my self no more plugins and going for hardware from now on

Id love an 808 and/or a 909…

You, me and the rest of us, except for Howie i bet he has both

Im not sure why nerve is not on the list but its AMAZING and the precalc effects take no processor power and totally destroy every sample you have. +1 for nerve =)

I just grabbed the demo but looks very complicated–how do I play some basic presets in Geist? Can’t find how to open manual…
lattetown (27/02/2011)
It seems like the world of drum plug-ins is dominated by three players: Native Intruments, FXPansion, and Ableton. Have you used any of their drums (or anyone else’s) on your tracks? If so, what did you think?
Well I looked at everyone’s recommendation, but in the end I decided to fill out Ableton’s built-in drum rack with the “Drum Machines” add-on in Suite–mainly because it has a 909 kit with lots of presets to fiddle with.

been flat out with Ab’s drum rack…

really like the look of the nerve

just watched some vids by the developer Steve Duda

apparently co-designed with the bold DeadMou…
