Which VST's Are The Best For Trance/Progressive/Tech House?

I am looking into starting production and have got ableton 7 and reason 3 (though i know reason is a stand alone program).

So for ableton 7, which vst’s are my best bet to get for making trance/ tech house/proggy house, proggy trance???

I like the sounds of Deadmau5, Jaytech, Michael Cassette, Ronski Speed, Andy Duguid (as a brief example to you can know the sounds they use) for the proggy stuff.

And Mike Nichol, Kimito Lopez, Breakfast, Above & Beyond, for the trancy stuff (again a brief example of artists)

Any suggestions would be great!

Theres a trance tutorial coming very soon… im using ReFX Nexus for a lot of the sounds… def the best for trance stuff. Disco DSP is also top notch… basically a nordlead 2

Sounds excellent Phil, i’m already looking forward to the release of these Trance tutorials!!!

And thanks for the heads up on ReFX and the other names, they mean nothing to me yet but i’m sure they will soon enough!

also looking forward to the trance tutorial :w00t:

hello ppl…

Phil what about tech house???

tks

In relation to the suggested vst’s, where is the best place to buy them from, i know of no high street stores that sell stuff like that.

So if it is internet sites which is best, ideally i’d like to try things out on a free basis for a month or so to see if it’s a use able thing for my tracks.

I’ve heard talk of FM8, what is this?

I tend to just buy direct off the manufacturers site or just blagg a copy for use in a tutorial. dosnt work as much as id like.

a lot of stuff would be sort of be sampled stabs which you just need to sample from records… dave clarke - red 2, inner city - big fun good places to start.

Minimoogv & Korg MS20 are good for big basses.

NI Abysynth good for weird sound fx and lfo type stuff

Tks Phil…and when sould i expect a short tutorial for tech house??? :D:D:D:D:D :D:D:D:D:D :D:D:w00t::w00t::w00t:

Not too sure whether this falls under the category of VST’s, but where is the best source for percussion files, kicks, hats, snares, drums/tablas/bongos and the like???

I only have limited files, and most are crap, when i listen to my tracne and tech house the sounds of perc are so much better.

I know they prob eq’d them to get that way but there has to be sources somewhere???/

Cheers.

check on ebay…sometimes theres sample packs for sale at half decent prices too

hey if your after kicks snares hats fx and all that other stuff check out the vengeance sample cds you can buy them at www.mutekki-media.com or check www.vengeance-sound.com i bought them and it was the best buy. excelent sounds and quality.
