Why Producers are Focused on Remixes nowadays?

I Noticed that many Producers are Remixing other people stuff more than before. do they do that just to get their name out ?.

i think that produsing Original stuff based on other influences is better , but that is just me .

I might want to start remixing Music and probably a good idea to have for a next Tutorial would be how To Remix a classic House Track with nowadays sounds and styles .

what do you guys think?

well dude, for many reasons really.

for a new producer, its a way to get his/her name out there. for a well known producer, it is a huge networking opportunity. not only that though, but if its a well known producer they might do favors for one another as well. Lastly, because of money. I heard of big producers remixing rock bands or whatever and getting paid some major cash. So remixing is its own little money maker.

Hit the nail on head basically.

As well as the tune appealing to different people and scenes.

its also quite fun to remix something into completely different, like DJ amaya and anoraak from france etc.

Know the feeling

I would agree 100% with all of the above but the main reason i see in it is kinda the same way i see my dj set heading recently ‘‘RETRO IS COOL’’

Iv noticed over the last year or so that im needing to play more and more classics to grab attention again, and if i have a brand new remix of a big classic im sorted.

I suppose its got to do with people being flooded with new music at home ie. youtube, blogs ect… the dj is no longer the source for their intake of new music because they can do it on a sofa at home.

So for me the idea of a brand new track that nobody has ever heard before turning a whole club upside down, people going crazy and what have ya on its first play is long gone…(although i have seen the odd one here and there but not like it was before)

But take that same track drop a lyric from an old club classic on it then BAM…INSTANT HIT

So in short…the remix is the biggest attention grabber of them all.
