Wich labels should be the right one for us?

I been asked to get signed by this 2 different labels .

Label A —this label is Big , and especially because they are based in NYC.it gives me the chance to get more gigs up there.

but the issue is that they require that u master your track and they will only want to pay me 25% of net sales.

Label B------ this labels include mastering services , Promoting services, also the pay would be 50% of the net sales. . the only issue is that is a small label .

but they try to promote in every way .

promise no gigs , only publicity

I was thinking over night but both of them have cons and pros.

maybe releasing my music in a bigger label would help me get more gigs but at the same time i dont think that they appreciate my music as much as the other label.

which label would u choose and why ?

i think i would go for the gigs (and thus big label)

my assumption is that in the end it would pay off more. Specially if you can get a minimum amount of gigs. Plus having a release on a big name is good for your own promotion, aside from the fact that playing in NYC is already impressive on your CV (in my understanding)

thanks man i think i might want to do that even do there will not be money for me :frowning:

I think you should go with the bigger label. It looks better on your c.v and gigs is where your more likely to make your money.

Good luck man

Gotta agree with the first label too - simply it would help getting your name across and as the chance of getting gigs is where the dosh is

Look forward to your world tour when you come to the UK

the big label with the gigs and NY thing for sure.

Look you’ll make such a little amount off the actual record sales you have to see that as the secondary or tertiary goal. Raising your profile, generating cash - and a wider audience - through gigs and getting a name that people know and will go to for remixes, to work at their club night and so on has to be the primary goal.

Got to agree with everyone here, go for the big one and get the gigs. Also mastering your tracks guves you control of what they sound like in the end.

Also: Nice, well done

+1 too :frowning:

first of all - well done mate , its a nice dilemma to have

second, go for the big label with a well known name and the gigs. ultimately the cost of mastering will probably be deducted by the other label anyway before they pay you anything from the sales, so you’re really paying for the master either way!

get the high profile and the gigs, the gigs are where you will make money in the end not from sales.

25% of larger sales is still gonna be better than 50% of smaller amount of sales.

thirdly, put in a good word for us with your new label buddies! :hehe:

Law of averages - make enough points and one day one of them has  to be good.

On a side note, I bought your track off Beatport the other day and this morning I slipped it into my ‘before leaving for work Traktor mix’. I think it was between Bookashade scaramanga, dusty kid remix and Tete zuckerzeit. It sounded great, really liking it.

wow - thanks mate! glad you like it and thanks for buying it. :D:D:D:D

I didn’t record it, I bought loads of new tracks and I was playing them to get to know them. I haven’t done a mix for ages, I have been concentrating on production and I don’t have enough time for both, but I need to work on my DJing - I am off to Ibiza and I hope to get a set at a friends party in July.

oh i just automatically record everything

good luck in ibiza - be sure to bring my track with ya!

Yes, that is a good idea, I should really.

Ibiza isn’t until July, but I have booked the flights today. YAY.

lucky MOFO Ant! I’m jealous!

if the label is BIG but they dont master i dont think its very big at all, sounds to me like its a con. Ive never ever ever ever ever ever heard of a half way decent label that doesnt master…

thanks SA family for the feedback . really going to send it to master my track today .
