Hi guys!
I have been sitting in front of my DAW and sylenth for a substantial amount of time now and I just can´t get that fluffy wide bass. I have that good punch between the kick and the bass so no problem there but if you listen to this clip you here Les Dieux de la Nuit - Samedi 06 Novembre 2010 - DIM CHRIS - MICHAËL FEINER - JSR - RICH - YouTube! You here the bass seams wide and fluffy! No matter what i try I cant get that to happen to my bass, some chorus gives it a bit wideness butt not at all like the bass in this clip! This is my only barrier to a great production right now, so if some one could help me out I would be among the happiest!
Any one having an idea how to achieve this?
Have you tried panning some oscillators to the left and some to the right?
Hi thanks for your reply !
Hum… no i think the oscillators are in the center. But should a keep one bass mono, say 30-100 htz i the middle, do a copy of that one and put a HP filter from 100 hrtz and then pan the oscillators on this one? Or should i do this on the lowend (30-100) ??

Generally I think its best to keep the low end solid and centred. If you are going to pan, go from 100hz as you suggested and give that a bash!
I´m getting a bit closer now:)
Thank´s for your help!
There is another option of adding the ableton multiband compressor to the bass and creating a chain for the low, mid and high frequencies. That way you can keep the low end mono and solid, add width to the mids and high, reverb to the mid and overdrive sparkle to the high to give it crunch! This approach can really open up a bass sound
there is a free plugin call basslane which will let u center or widen frequencies above or below whatever levels u chose
Interesting I will try this one
Thanx aging guys

Of course, I’m going to ask the age old question. Is there a free Mac equivalent? :crying:
Have you got Logic?
Would the Stereo Spread do the same job?
You can make the lower freq’s “flat” - which I would imagine, would remain mono if you had them mono to begin with. Then the upper Freq’s would get spread.
NB: You would need it to be mono before you used the spreader. So probably, hit mono on the synth on your channel / or sampler or use a mono plugin before the S.Spread.
Havent tried it - but guess that it would work that way.
