Hey guys, quick question which system in your opinion is better for Traktor, Windows Xp or Windows 7?
I’m fixing my mates laptop btw…I’m on OS X, so not really sure.
Would appreciate your input.
I don’t use tracktor but would say depending how powerful the laptop windows 7
dosent matter, but 7 is newest so stick to it
I downgraded my laptop from vista to xP because I read traktor runs better on xp
But really it all depends on the laptop it self wether you need to do that or not!
You need to do a bit of research as some laptops work better than others. There is lots of things you can to improve the way it runs. Or like turning off services, wifi, processes etc
Guys, its not something that I’ve really checked out too much about:
But I have a bit of a slightly bitcrushed vibe off any sounds that play through the h’phones on the Laptop with Windows 7. Did a quick search on it ages ago… and saw that it was a bit of a problem.
Probably something about drivers, but I dont use it for music, so it doesnt bother me.
Its a dell - but I remember seeing that folks had issues regardless of manufacturer. Just wondering if you PC Guys knew anything about it / had any experience.
Dont worry about it if ye dont of course - just asking cos I saw the thread & as I said, its not a headwrecker for me ( Proof: I havent followed it up since…)
honestly I know everything there is to know about PC’s (well almost) windows 7 runs better than vista yes but at the end of the end it will all come down to the spec of the laptop. if you have issues there are loads of things you can do to free ram etc etc but it stupid to use xp. makes no sense at all.

that make no sense mate… yes chances are it down to drivers. run windows update for a start and/or go to device manager and find to sound card make, google it and update drivers. its prob a dell own make, on board thingy so update everything via dell including the bios if there is an update etc etc
WTF - Makes no sense? :doze:

yeah getting a bit crushed sound… make no sense, very strange… I’m running win7 64bit and I’ve never ever had that on desktop or laptop…
Typical Mac user propaganda - dont believe a word of it
I would say xp unless you can prove otherwise. Plenty of info on the net regarding this
