Work

As above, I really can’t be arsed working today, spent a few hours in the studio yesterday and have got loads of idea buzzing around my head I need to get out!

Good dam work, I think the princes trust or s something should pay us for our production and creative skills until we are in a poition to go it alone!

If Only!

I took a sickie - but don’t tell anyone

Tell me about it man,

I’m workin 6 days a week and it actually kills me the only time I can spend on some production is on Mondays which is my day off but normally I’m to tired or pissed off to get really stuck into it,

There is always the dole,

That’s a way to get paid to stay at home in the studio.

When I lived in Wales I used to help run New Deal for Musicians which was a great little scheme to help musicians on job seekers allowance to promote themselves and get gigs and signed etc etc - ofcourse the goverment has scrapped it now

Hard life on the dole, dont fancy that!

I work from home so my studio doubles up as an office… which dosent help! I could so easily stop working and fire up ableton but I’ve got a contract which has to be finished today… its hellish! So tempting but I cant, I mustn’t do it… But I want to, argh!

Jesus how do you get anything done sitting next to your studio.

sitting on my studio/work pc… self control… which sometimes goes out the window!

its annoying at times because after a hard days work you just wanna get out of this room when I should really focus on production

I think I would find that to difficult - I also work from home one day a week but use my laptop to avoid distraction

I don’t think I could handle it at all.

Out of curiosity how do you guys go about setting time aside for the studio,

Like a couple of hours every night?

A couple of hours a week?

When ever ye can? Or whatever.

I know I struggle big time in fitting production time in around work, a girlfriend, dj’ing and everyday stuff.

What are ye talking about Guys?

How do you pronounce / spell it? Is it wrok? Wurock?

I dunno :hehe:

Well I’m self employed so after this weekend I’m taking monday & tuesday off, working a full day wednesday and 4 hours thurday & friday and will do pretty much the same the following week - so I cut out work here and there to fit studio time in but I lose money in turn which is why I’ve been working 6 days a week for the last 5 weeks!

I tried the whole student thing but lack of £££ killed me so I quit and went back to work.

Just spent my lunch on Ableton sorting out some nice strings… now back to the grind

I try and fit a couple of hours every nite - weekends are really hard due to family commitments and usually to wasted on sundays :stuck_out_tongue:

yah i split my time during the week on ableton / gaming. probably get about 10-20 hrs per week in on producing. depending on my mood. although I do sometimes spend a whole saturday or sunday just cranking away at producing. the 40hr work week takes a tole sometimes and I just prefer to drink my sorrows away.

I feel ur pain slender! lol

I like to go out on a Friday theses days (but no every friday any more), mainly because it gives u 2 days to recover or an extra day to party! I do like to do a Friday through to Sunday job sometimes

I dont remember last time i got wasted. hehehe but yeahh work sucks .

And ableton is fired up  now all I’ve gotta do is ignor requests to go for a drink… mobile on slient…

Lol I have to switch my lights off too and pretend i am not in - never works though

I’m actually tempted to quit my job so I can spend more time with my little girl and producing, only problem is I have a mortage and my job pays for my hobby. So I’m in a catch 22
