Would you prefer a great track over a great mix?

noticed that there is many producer that their mix is Crisp and nice. but their Music still Sucks.

whats your thoughts about it ?

I am in the good track school of thought but really both are equally important - I suppose if I was rich and famous I would get some one else to mix it for me - but that ain’t going to happen :stuck_out_tongue:

good track, i’ve got some really cool tracks that suck on the mix down and mastering but still really love them

Good track, because a good track can always be mixed.

Where as it doesn’t matter how good the mix down, a bad track is still a bad track.

I agree - good track. Whats the point in having a clean crisp mix if the track is poor. A good track has emotion and feel and makes you want to dance, a clean crisp mix of a poor track will not have the desired effect that dance music requires.

A good Mix.

I dont like Music.

both! you can hace a great track but will sound like ****e it the mix it ****e! even more so in trance!

Uhhhh, both.

great track any day. mix could be perfect but be horrible music… doesnt exactly give me a tent pole

One will make the other, if your tracks are good you can build a good set.

then again i made good sets with crappy traks, loopt the **** out of it, threw on loads of effects on the mixer and went ballistic. retorical question, makes one think…
