Yeah, so

Haha…gotta keep the sheets of acid dry if one is to have a good weekend!
slender (19/06/2011)
You forget the ten hours getting their hair just right and their mum doing all the ironing first :stuck_out_tongue:
JamieinNC (19/06/2011)
Suits, scooters and pills! Weekend ready…
slender (19/06/2011)
My firstjob was selling Union Jack Jack Jackets, ties, and shoes to mods in Carnaby Street - bunch of Wnkers :stuck_out_tongue:
JamieinNC (19/06/2011)
Yeah I probably wouldn’t have been a mod, as they were 10x more psychotic than the rockers ever were. I mean, for Pete’s sake, look at Keith Moon!
slender (19/06/2011)

JamieinNC (19/06/2011)
Isn’t that where the Mods and the Rockers had their weekend brawl back in the 1960s that made the beach look like Normandy after all was said and done?
bangthedj (19/06/2011)
PS, I smell some photo shopping in that Brighton picture, no WAY the water is that blue! It’s a very definite pond green every time I’ve seen it.

Yep my dad used to go - he was a mod btw - god rest his soul - not sure he got involved in the fighting, not really his sort of thing

I really don’t know what you mean Jamie — honest :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha it might not be AS funny out of context, but when I talk about the Mod, Rockers and even the Rave scene I always have to mention the LSD and the Ecstasy and the effects of each on the user. Of course, I can honestly say I had ONE drug experience with pot, and I realized drugs were not for me. Haha…

So I can’t speak from experience, but in class, I usually quickly follow up my explanation of the drugs with “Of course, we here at XXX institution of higher education do not suggest that you rush right out and TRY these drugs for your own homework assignments…” As sort of a disclaimer. The students always get a kick out of that. It’s sort of my shtick as a comedic personality at the front of the room…

You just reminded me of that slen…

Yep the mods and rockers had a bit of a smash up on Brighton beach, god bless this city.

I’d say in it’s history however the fat boy slim gig was probably the most epic

Funny just watching the remake of Brighton Rock - not bad for a remake

I’d have crawled over broken glass to go to the Big Beat Boutique back in the day, from what I heard that sums up what partying should be like.

Straight up raving, no trendy nonsense.

Live and let live and all that, but Trendy clubs are everything that is wrong with music.

Sweaty (ie dancing) gurners (ie enjoying) people ftw!

Haha! I still love you in different ways, slen…

Perve :P:P:P

Hah! No, those confessions would be if I were talking about my dad’s lakehouse up in the Adirondacks. Many more trees and places to hide, and not nearly as many sand fleas. Although the mosquitos can be the size of small birds…
