Its on its way folks - Ableton Live 9. Looks good they have re-designed the EQ8 and compressors from what i can see. Much more control over the sound and they model some old analogue equipment.

Awesome! Looks really like they have either licensed or copied stuff from fabfilter.
There was a video explaining the new compressor and eq8 on you tube but they seem to have been removed now. Phil never used fab filter but the eq8 now has a definite look of it. Not sure when its released but look forward to some tutorials Phil once it’s available.

i would say 9…alot of people wanted x64 hope its finnaly there…and a dual screen possibility would be cool aswell…dunno why they didnt make it earlyer

there is x64 versions of 8 is there not?
yes already a 64-bit version in beta. it’s been working well for me.
aside from automation curves, i would love to see an ableton equivalent of logic node.
Looks really good. Was just watching the vid over one facebook. Lots more visual enhancements to the original plugins as well.

If so then i dont see why they would make another version of the 8.

Yeah it’s definitely Live 9 because they have totally overhauled the library browser on the left.
I totally agree with Phil, the comparisons to the FabFilter plugins are uncanny. Most of the updates look very welcome (overlaid spectrum to EQ8 and Compressor) and the Glue looks awesome. I’m not really fussed about the Gate or Expander.
Downside-If they have licensed the Glue then this will most likely be more expensive.
People are already moaning that it won’t have this or that, but this is just a leaked (possibly intentionally) vid of some functions.
