Best eq

Hey guys im looking for good eq something that is similar to uad 2 eqs.

I need it for

hihats and piano sounds to remove the low end,to make more aggresive and sweet.

I heard about uad plugins but i donw have money like 1.000 eu to buy uad sound card.

I also know about tritone digital valve ton 62.

So im looking for your tip what are u using?

Just use what ever come’s with your daw dude. Buying a fancy plug in won’t make much difference if all your doing is cutting lows from hi hats

I know mate im using ableton eq but i need something that makes more agressive like i said;)

Im looking just for a opinion maybe someone knows something nice eq tool:)

which one?

UAD has a lot of EQs

This.

Character? Add a Saturator at the end of your chain.

+1 on Saturator.

Kinda confused by aggressive And sweet. Have you tried using the Autofilter and setting it so that it doesn’t phase or pulse?

I will try sutiration too:)

I have waves bundle so there is preset like i was looking for…

This may help - I love fab filter

try urs strip pro. its bank in the pocket. its a compressor but does a lot this should be in your vst folder.

nebula3 pro,or anything on the list seanl mentioned(particularly for what youre looking for “softube PE 1C” which is much closer to the real thing than uad,i know i have them both),also i think it was slender who mentioned fabfilter, they make good stuff as well…someone wrote an article about how all digital eqs are the same quite a while ago and since then it has been heavily misinterpreted to the point where people think their d.a.w.s stock eqs are just as good for boosting/sweetening as really good thirdparty ones.this isnt the case.

IMO, EQ is EQ. I would 99% of the time run the EQ in the DAW. Why increase the processing load of a stupid EQ? Now if you are bussing, thats another story. But not on a channel insert.

test drive as many as you can and go for the one you like USING more as most will produce the same results. there is a music mag somewhere with a huge section about eq’s being able to produce the same results however some will take more working and tweaking than others.

with DAW eq’s i personally hate using abletons EQ, i don’t know why but its just not for me logic’s is great so its all down to personal taste really.

computer music did an EQ thing years ago testing all the high end EQ’s. The winner was sonnox oxford. This EQ is awesome but tbh the ableton EQ eight set to high quality should also be good enough for your work really. Its a great little EQ and does the job. Also if you want a Pultec EQ but dont wana buy a UAD setup or way overpriced waves stuff then check out t-racks 3 theres a really nice Pultec emulation in there.

like jon i cant really handle using abletons eqs but dont mind very light boosts with logics eq,t-racks 3’s pultec emu is definitely decent but its a little too heavy on the coloring(though that can also be seen as a plus depending on what youre using it on)i love the waves jjp collection, uad is cool but it cracks me up when i see posts talking about how authentic and analog it sounds when there is no modeling of the sort taking place with their eqs(at least with their older stuff like their pultec emulation)and seriously that “all” digital eqs are the same stuff is nonsense these days.

*forgot to add that the lack of “color” with uads version can also be seen as a plus depending on the material.

lmao.thats gui placebo effect and forums jammed packed with people that have never touched a piece of hardware in their lives talking about how close to the real unit “insert plugin name here_____” sounds.its always fun getting into arguments with people like that while i look at the actual real unit mounted on one of the side racks of my crsystem1.
