CLR / Dark Techno Production Thread

Sounds like a great idea, Chekka! Now, I wouldn’t suggest resampling ad infinitum… :w00t:
chekka (05/06/2011)
btw is there a way to automate the transpose of a clip?

it makes a cool noise when you transpose a clip while it is playing but i cant figure out how to record it

good old resampling maybe?

ANSWER: yeah resampling
if you add another layer of fx everytime

and maybe warp it a bit differently

you could really go on forever couldnt you

if i get a week off work i might try it!!

you would eventually end up with a totally transformed sound tho

Great stuff Jamie, very mind expanding things u do. Thx! :w00t:

Glad you like! I ran away with the tune and finished 95% of it without making videos, so Sorry about not documenting the follow through well enough! Haha. Got carried away with it. Once my go-to folks here say it’s ok I’ll post it.

came across this guys youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/dazexus

He writes score for film & video games. Not explicitly techno but he offers a some decent ideas… food for thought if nothing else

Nice on S!

Heres another that Slender posted a while back

That, is an awesome tip Jamie. Morphing between effects with the effects rack, genius.

guys I’m from Ukraine!

I have several years of writing music in ableton

nidavnego with time became longer udilyat style Detroit techno and dark industrial!

something that turns out!

here’s a passage I want to do something like that but all my attempts to break off!

for me it still remains a mystery and the magic of how to make these hats for the gods, this groove is something!

Techno by City of Machine

Welcome to the forums man! Nice to see ya!

Like the groove in that first one - Very Dave the Drummer (thats a compliment! )

2nd one sounds wicked too - like the way you get your groove going :)

I’m interested in how to make hats and groove

Well… 1st thing I’d say is extract the groove from the track.

Theres a few different things going on in that track in terms of hats. Its a combination of different patterns / hats that make the groove. Its a combo of 1/8th’s for the cleaner hat and then, dunno 16th’s underneath. You;ll get a better groove & result using velocity on them. That’ll get it rockin. Then sidechain it Man.

You want to shorten the decay on the hats as well.

There is definitely some hats in there with a bitcrusher too. You;ll wanna destroy that sound with an erosion, or redux or vinyl.
