where is it??? can’t find the link anywhere
Yeah man where be the deadmouse tute ?
cant find either ???:w00t:
needed to do this one but been busy !
Did anyone hear that in an interview he said something to the effect of “Everyone loves my music. Everyone wants to sound like me and/or be like me.”
That guy is pretty arrogant.
yeah man i read this … cant remember where ???!!!
yeah i think perhaps it may be miss read my mate has done shows with him and says hes really cool to hang out with … who knows 4 sure ?
?
Now reading this really makes me laugh. he claims to be very original and that everyone wants to sound like him, a friend of mine got his sample pack, we had a quick flick through the sample pack and found a few loops we liked the sound of and imported them into a wav editor to find they all had vengeance stamps on them and had simply been re named

if he’s headlining a show he wont let the other dj’s before him dj with ableton live…because thats what he uses

Why would that make a difference if somebody who uses ableton goes on before you?
There are too many corny djs like deadmau5 these days and the reason they get away with it is down to ableton live. Or at least thats what my immature post turntable attitude tells me! Suppose he puts of a good show, that hat-head thing he uses cracks me up.
I used to really like Deadmau5 until I heard he told a UK newspaper that all dj’s were crap. All they do is play other people’s songs. I then went to his website and he didn’t really offer a apology. He said he doesn’t care what people think. After seeing that I no longer buy any of his tracks. It’s pretty stupid to cut all dj’s down to that level. Maybe he needs to study some history. He would find that dj’s helped shape early house and techno from disco, funk and other style. Without dj’s maybe house music wouldn’t of been realized. Then arrogant Joel Zimmerman “Deadmau5” wouldn’t even be Deadmau5 because electronic music didn’t exist. Then he would be some regular skinny Canadian guy who smokes to much. Dj’s are just as much a part of the music as producers in some sense.I think it was in bad taste. Let me know what you guys think about this. Or if you have heard anything similar.
Tom
with out dj’s music would be a whole different world. its different to dayas most radio djs are given track lists to play but 10-20 years back radio dj’s and club djs were the guys that make your tracks sell. the fact is if a dj didn’t play it the average person wouldn’t have never heard of it.
Deadmau5 would soon change his tune if all dj’s Radio/club/underground avoided playing his tracks.

I think a certain element of arrogance is required in the music industry, just to survive. It’s an industry full of coke’d up pricks, egotistical promoters and hangers on so I think you need to become a little arrogant in order to play the game.
I had an element of arrogance when I was DJing because people keep telling you how great you are (even if you’re a cool DJ you get it) because you’re the DJ.
Now in real life I’m even more arrogant because I hate everyone… Deadmau5 has nothing on me
In response to all the slander he;s been receiving on message boards (a bit like this one), he has released this video
Iv seen numerous people like this over the years, thankfully they all peak too early and then fade away only getting gigs at student unions. So don’t fret too much people.

word…
in his defence Ghosts n Stuff is an immensely awesome track. Not so much a fan of anything else though
Deadmau5 discussions bore me, they’re like CDJ vs Vinyl discussions = Everyones got an opinion, no one actually gives a sh*t and in the end of the day it all comes down to - each to their own.
If he wants to get all ‘high n mighty’ then let him, at least i don’t have to rely on software to do my DJing for me.
iam pretty shocked to hear about what Deadmau5 has been saying lately !
but i think i disagree with most of this conversation
first of all Deadmau5 isn’t a DJ …he performs his tracks live
& thats the way producers should be going now !
lets not mix up a DJ from a DJ/Producer/Live Performer/Remixer …there’s a big diff !
yes back in the days producers needed to rely on DJ’s to get there tracks heard & sold but 10 years ago most producers were producers & most DJ’s were just DJ’s
if you have been around in the dance scene as long as i have …about 25 years …then it’s all pretty boring …& its really cool that technology now allows a producer to perform his tracks live !!!
now what is exactly “good live performing” well my opinion only trance producers
really actually do hard work , since you have a sound coming in at every 8 bars “not including effects” …& 16 + channels to keep track of
where as House its more like 16 bars & the most 8 channels
DeadMau5 takes a short cut & uses 4 channels
wow , this post is a dinosaur, interesting user name too, im afraid to ask
I think he plays up to the whole “anti hero” thing for show,
If we are saying good things or bad things we are still talking about him…HE WINS either way
Some Mixmag writers hate him… they are always passing smart comments,
Honestly im not much impressed by him anymore, how long can you repackage a sound before people begin to catch on???
