Deadmau5 collapses on stage!

I say… That Hawtin fellow must have no soul to be off gallavanting around the globe in such a fashion.

I rather think that a spot of National Service might sort out this Mouse Character before he has another episode.

Disgraceful conduct in front of all those people.
stylz (04/08/2010)
Funny seeing people trying to defend the exhaustion argument. As a former Marine infantry machinegunner I can tell you the human body is capable of withstanding much much more than what a hectic DJ schedule can throw at you. Either he is a really weak human or substances played a role. Think about it. Either way, hope he gets better and back to producing.
I think he is very weak and out of shape and unhealthy. He smokes like a chimney too.

yeah i agree howie, if you every see him he looks extremely skinny and pale. he needs to gain some weight and do some exercise. maybe he’s partying to much and his small body couldnt take it anymore.

Really valid points howie / tommy.

When I seen him last he looked a bit like a… dead mouse boom boom

ok ok i’ll get my coat… TAXI!

He is definitely partying too much. There are plenty of DJs that travel as much as him.

I actually just saw him 2 weeks ago in Philadelphia at the Electric Factory.

The show was freaking awesome. I had seen him before a couple times in NYC…

But now he has the CUBE thing on Stage with him. That thing is awesome to watch.

I’m sure that he will get better. But 2 howies point… he should probably eat some food, work out and lower his substance/booze intake. He looks like casper most days.

Check out this vid from philly if your interested:

That light show and cube is phenomenal!!!
roben (04/08/2010)
It’s probably a bit unfair to automatically assume it’s drink and drugs. I mean who knows, it could be, but the late nights, awkward flight times, long travel and lack of sleep amongst other things can be really taxing on the mind and body.

Different people cope in different ways.
hahah unfair Roben - when I met the guy he was like damn I am so stoned and out of it, btw public event with teenagers around
roben (04/08/2010)
That light show and cube is phenomenal!!!
Yeah man I agree. His light show was definitely one of the best I have seen in a while.

I can’t believe you’re trying to compare a trained military professional who’s skilled in dealing with sleep deprivation and exhuastion with a DJ.

He’s perfectly right in saying that. The human body is an amazing piece of machinery. Sure a DJ is hectic but there are people out there with much harsher things going on.

Must have been all the partying and pharmaceuticals/booze imo.

he’s not right in saying that in anyway. Sure Zimmy may be burning the candles at both ends but that doesn’t mean that every man on the planet should be combat ready.

yes the human body can go through an incredible amount of physical stress but comparing some blokes training in the marines, where people specialise in long term physical deprivation skills with those of some bloke who’s worked in a computer studio his whole life is the most ridiculous comparison I’ve ever heard.

That’s like saying all human beings have similar brain capacity, so theoretically our bloke here who’s trained as a marine should be able to rock up at NASA and fix the space shuttle, or physically should be able to win the iron man competition and failure to do any of these things makes him a weak individual.

It’s such a typical military trained drone point of view, and it’s absolutely ridiculous.

Compare similar skill sets or don’t bother making comparisons.

i thought maybe he passed out from the same thing lil kim and Rod Stewart did back in the day;)

Compare similar skill sets? Many people have already done so in this thread. My point is this. I didn’t come out of my mother a Marine. I was a lean thin 18 y/o kid. The human body only needs 2-3 hours of sleep a day to function at almost full capacity. We had people in the Marines that were super skinny, fat, you name it. Has nothing to do with skilled or trained to deal with sleep deprivation…or whatever. It’s all mental or stuff you put in your body that affects your mental capabilities. That’s it. This kid literally comes in (he does no set up I’m sure) and plays a hour or two or three, once a day. To say he is exhausted (regardless of jet lag or time zones) is an insult to people who work laborious jobs 12-16 hours a day every day.

But hey, we are all entitled to our own opinions or views. I’m not going to call yours ridiculous are go on a tirade though.

You’re spot on mate. I agree with everything you just said. It’s all mind over matter.

So you’re telling me you did no training at all, all your exercises were 9-5 and you got a full nights sleep everynight?

That bootcamp was just a jolly and that anyone can do it?

You are telling me that no one dropped out of bootcamp? everyone made it all the way through, and that every human beings body responds to mental and physical pressure in the same way.

I thought all you US marines were special people? The best of the best, selected above all others and so on and so on. I guess you’re saying “you’re just  bog standard people” and do something that anyone with no training can do?

Which is simply not true.

Yes of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, but your opinion is that everyone who can’t do what a US Marine with serious training under his belt can do is a weak individual is frankly insulting.

And it’s frustrating to read this tosh, people are not created equal physically or mentally, so comparing how you faired on your marine training, or in an active theatre of operation after months of training, to how some bloke fairs on a hectic schedule is absoloutely ridicolous - it’s also pretty insulting to your fellow marines.

Fact of it is that’s a busy schedule, and regardless of if he’s partying or not that would knock the stuffing out of anyone if maintained.

I don’t have anything else to say and I don’t want this to descend into a drag the froum to hell flame war, so I’m going to bow out now.

Have a good one.

Although Stylz has valid points, the body and mind can be trained to achieve all sorts of incredible stuff. But that’s just it… it needs training.

And anyways, 2-3 years of constant abuse of the mind and body (lack of sleep) is going to take it’s toll after a while to anyone, even to a trained marine.

Sleep deprivation can have massive effects to the mind and body, I don’t care who you are. If you’re not getting enough sleep, eventually it’ll all come crashing down. It’s also very unhealthy for you and can increase the risk of heart attack amongst numerous of illnesses.

Check this article out on sleep deprivation:

http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/exchange/node/1690

I was talking to a friend that travels a ton and he was talking that he believes in “sleep debt”. I guess its where you can stay up for however long you need to, but you need to repay your body the sleep it needs. Interesting theory though. Im sure your body needs to be somewhat trained for it.
