I could just put 2 of my tracks together - sorted
[quote]Mussi81 (03/05/2011)[hr][quote]ICN (03/05/2011)[hr]Picked an X1 up for €120 today… with bag. Spotless… looks new.
Havent plugged it in yet… Have exams coming up, so dont need the distraction.
Just messing about with it… really surprised by the build quality. The pots are good, clicking in the middle like a real mixer. They’re not “loose” either… & they feel like you’d have a good bit of precision with them.
The buttons click too… which makes you feel like they are actually doing something.
Bag is excellent quality.
Glad I got it so far! LOL

Corrected your typo
Cool… off the hook then!
Traktor Pro 2 Lads:
How are you setting up your “cues” on the channels & headphone volume / mix?
Can you assign them to pots on the X1 - or elsewhere?
Just wondering what your set-up is… cos when I was last using Traktor, I couldnt find out how to access those parameters in the Midi assign in Pref’s. It was a mouse job for me.
Havent set it up yet… or looked at TP2 - but just thinking ahead
I’m not sure what you mean. If you mean hot cues, ie skipping to different parts of the track while it is playing, I just use the hit cue buttons on the X1. It is one of the best features.
Dont have TP2 yet… so I think these are the controls. They’ve changed a bit since T3.
These Cues & H’phones Mix:
Sorry - Just bringing this back up… its slipping down
Ah ok, I was being dim - your first message makes perfect sense
I don’t use these because I use an external mixer, but yes - they are the headphone cue buttons on each channel, so you click to turn them on, and the volume and mix on the right.
Haha! No probs
Now, here’s where I’m going to be a bit dim Mate… do you know if you can assign them to a button / knob on a midi controller from the Midi preferences?
Ideally - I’d have the 2 h’phone cues & phones mix / volume mapped onto a notcturn or something.
I tried looking for possibilites to assign it in T3 - couldnt see it. Couldnt see anything in the manual about it either. Opened T3 again last night - still no joy… I’m probably missing something really obvious.
Supposed to be studying for exams at the moment - so dont have an awful lot of time to go hunting about… I’ll wait until TP2 comes in the post - was just curious. Will probably have a look at some of the templates people have done & see whats possible. :)
Winner having it on your mixer
Yes you can assign all the buttons and knobs in Traktor. It is easy to find where they are, the only problem with doing this is how small the list of rules is, actually creating the rules is easy.
Ah… I’ll wait until I get my upgrade. Its there of course
Ant- thanks very much for all your help here in this thread. You’ve really given me a lot of your time.
Apprecite it Mate

Always happy to help
I’m in the middle of doing an x1 mapping to include the sample decks - it can get quite complicated but I am almost there.
Are you doing it with 1 or 2 X1’s?
I’m doing it with one X1. I don’t use the loop in and out buttons (I use the auto loop knob for looping) so I have made them control the samples load and play back.
So when you hold the Left In and press any of the FX buttons it loads a sample, and the fx knobs do volume
when you hold left Out and press any of the FX buttons it loads from the playing deck, and the fx knobs do filter
When you hold right or right out do the loop player and load into sample slots.
It is complicated, but I think it will be easy to get used to, maybe…
I would love to have two, but they just won’t fit.
Sounds good! Not too complicated at all - but it would be sweet to have more than one of course. Have you ever thought about using a different midi controller with it?
Just have it for the sample decks on their own? I think Jamie is using his APC40’s X-Fader… but might also have other stuff mapped to it.

Are you bouncing on the couch when you’re mixing?

There is an Ant sized gap (as in me, not an actual ant) between the couch and the decks. The photo makes the room look much smaller than it is.
Mrs Ant is very undersanding about the decks etc in the living room, in fact she loves house music and techno and gets me sets to play out, but there is a limit to how much equipment I can have out in the living room.
I have my sights on the NI Maschine for producing, but I will hook it up with Traktor as well, but just not leave it out.
She’s a keeper Mate!
