Seems like too many tech house suggestions here to me, thought this was a prog house request thread???
yeah… I guess there is 2 distinct sounds
the Pryda, DEadmau5, Glen Morrison melodic Prog.
and the Daniel Portman, Jerome Isma Ae driving techy Prog
Melodic Prog relies a lot on the chords and riffs you come up with so would be more angled around that.
The techy Prog would be more basslines and FX
will do full arrangments and mixing for both.
should we do a vote in subscriber forum?
Sounds good Phil!!

i think you should cover both Melodic and Techy but just put to a vote which one is done first.
i know people will moan about having two prog tutorials but they don’t have to be done back to back, which ever one wins the vote gets done next and the other one gets done in a few months.
or maybe you can do one and chris can cover the other and release it as a huge tutorial cover both of the popular progressive styles
AMAZING PRYDA TRACK !!!

I would prefer not to do a vote in order to save time. If you read the March poll thread, you will notice the majority of people were requesting the Daniel Portman / Jerome Isma-Ae style. I would like to see a tutorial on the melodic style also but I hope the driving prog tutorial is done first. As you mentioned, the melodic style is concentrated around a hooky melody. Maybe sonic could do a bite sized tutorial on how to get that big sound you hear on the hook lines. I believe the driving progressive style is more complicated and would require a more in depth tutorial. Just my opinion though =)
Sounds Fantastic, Really looking forward to this Phil.
If possible can we have the Tutorials done in Ableton & in Logic Pro 8? (I hear Logic Pro 9 is still very buggy)
Many Thanks
I want the melodic style of prog house so my vote goes towards that.
Mines going on the driving one:D,
any other producers you guys can name for either styles?
i think this would fal under the prog house genre… seems really complex and its only new on ISOS8:) unbelieveable sound>
