HTSL Agnelli & Nelson

I think we all want trance tuts from SA but unfort are requests have gone unanswered and since the last trance tut on SA there has been about 6 or so long house tutorials and 2 techno and thats not counting all the remixs of the prog house track that was done, whatever happened to the customer is always right:P

you have to realize that these are artist’s that run this site and like any artist they have there preference in music. clearly these guys are structuring their site around the music they prefer which I hate say is NOT trance. you have to pick what you can and add it to your trance production and look else where for trance tutorials.

These videos are really good!

i know what your talking about Roben and yes the vids are good!

from the Trance Gods this one comes!!

Oh no doubt they are doing what they enjoy and are used to doing but personally I think they are missing a trick here espec if you know who gathers pace and momentum as it looks good so far.

Don’t say that, otherwise you’ll give them an incentive to NOT make the videos  :stuck_out_tongue:

What did you guys think of Module 2?

who cares if SA makes another Trancer. module 2 was great!

he seems to be breaking down a lot of parts that you hear in a pro mix, and letting us know how many FREAKING elements there are even in the BREAK!!

Yeah module 2 was good, but nothing that I didn’t already know. Personally I’m really looking forwards to Module 4 - Mixing and Mastering.

The stuff he’s been teaching on scales etc is really good.

What i don’t understand though is… (and i’m hoping someone here could explain)

He said the scale was Bflat major scale but the tonal center is Eflat?

How did he know it was Bflat major turned into a Eflat lydian scale? How do I work that out in other tracks?

I’ve always just assumed the key that sounds most right when you’re playing it a long, tends to be the scale it’s in? So for example i could play along to something and find the tonal note is C, how do i know now its not just a C Major / Minor scale (as i’d previously assumed) rather than say (for example) a Dflat major scale that is using its tonal center as a C??

need to wait, was ok, I like the theory stuff, gave me some ideas.

I think it would have been better if he done the intro 1st and so on so therefore I need to wait before I can judge.

I sent him an email with some question on the v station - he replyed in 10min with all my questions complete!

good guy!

I’m going to recomend he goes more indepth regarding music theroy or explaines in more detail when hes doing the vids as I know that would keep me interested

Yeah same Wayne.

+1 on that.

Roben he explains all that in Module 1 about the scales and modes etc. I think the stuff hea doing is pretty good but i do have a few points of critisism. I dont really think he has tackled any of Sean Tyas’ stylistic elements, wheres the Phased to **** basslines? Wheres the dirty gritty acid lines? Also his melody is piss poor and his supersaw also sounds poor IMO! Ill have to wait till i hear the finished product but i am also lookijg forward to module 4 way more than module 3. Saying that though it will be nice to see how he does his transitions cos as of now his build up into the release also sounds piss poor.

YES YES YES the phased bass line!!! trying to make one now dam it!!!

No i’ve seen module 1 but he doesn’t really answer my question.

Aparantly the phased bassline is made on DiscoDSP Discovery. Now ive checked that synth and it doesnt even have a Phaser effect on it lol. Also Roben he dedicates a whole vid in Module 1 about music theory but mabey he rushes through it a bit i guess for people including myself who know nothing about Music Theory that it is a bit confusing. Im seriously thinking about getting Keyboard lessons i feel it might be the only way to learn theory, ive tried soooo much to learn it on my own but everytime you think yoir getting ‘it’ something pops its head and your left in WTF?! land again.
