HTSL ::::: Breaks

What’s the progress on the breaks tuts? We have been waiting awhile now!!!

Hello… anyone in there?

Can we get an update? This tuts are really helping out… Thanks Phil.

work has begun on this, hold tight it’s coming!!

Yeah I can’t wait for it to be complete. I want to learn to make breaks very bad.

Thanks

J

has begun? damn, three weeks ago you were finishing it. you guys are slacking REALLY bad lately. part of the reason i stopped bothering to answer posts and whatnot. there’s more useful stuff coming out on youtube these days then here, and you have 90 of my hard earned dollars. i see that not much has changed in well over a month, and doesn’t look like its going to change… time to hire more people guys, or quit feeding us bullshit. at this rate half the tuts will be out of style by the time they come out.

raymond :frowning:

i don’t care if you guys flame me for saying that either. not like im missing out on anything

^^^ Well I don’t agree, seems sometimes that people on this forum wouldn’t be happy unless there was a new HTSL churning out each week.

But i don’t see anyone writing into Future Music or Computer music complaining their magazine with DVD tuts only comes out once a month? I’m personally happy with the regularity of the videos.

Keep up the good work Sonic!

I am going to have to agree with raymondsar on this topic. I have an issue with what has been going on lately. For the amount of time in between each tutorial I feel they should be more in depth. By this I mean they should be full songs, including arangement, FX, background atmosphere sounds, automation etc… Instead they seem to be tutorials that were put together quite quickly. This would be fine if you were pumping them out once a week or so, but rather it seems to be a once every two to three weeks or a month.

For the amount of money spent, I feel as though myself and others may be getting the short end of the stick.

Also no one seems to respond to my support issues. This site is all about Tutorials so it cannot be compared to the magazines half *** tutorials with loads of ads and bull crap. The only reason we are paying $90 is for the tutorials. The friggin Justice HTSL does not even work for me and I paid like 3 months ago and I cannot even download the Ableton production files. One more thing when they do actually come out with a tutorial once in a while, it is usually very good and I seem to learn more from them than any where else on the net.

Hi all have to agree with roben man !

$90  for a year ? its not a lot for what you get is it?

I mean that the vids are  quality and you do learn a lot  from them so we’re paying a reasonable price for indepth tutes .

And if you pm the guys they respond within a day or two.

The vids do take time to produce and im sure that if we wanted they could churn them out fast but at what quality and detail?

I think people should be a bit patient man and think quality and not quantity

Whilst I’d never knock the decision to bring out more tutorials I prefer quality over quantity. I’m with Roben and egg2, I don’t have any issues with ammount that is being released, it’s all excellent stuff when it does come out.

It’s always the problem though, when you start to charge money for something that other people are doing for free (and often at a high standard - see Tom Cosm for an example) there are expectations that it will be of higher standard. Especially when you tie people in for year contracts.

My only gripe personally is the niggly website issues (slowness, not caching login etc), which I’m sure will get sorted soon

  1. $90 is a lot of money to the majority of the world
  2. the free stuff on the web at the moment trumps this site
  3. only the swedish, trance, and justice tuts are in depth out of all of them. the beginner ones are just that, “beginner”. the rest of them are just phils quick rundown on what he thinks, and not actually a tutorial at all…

here’s where i stand. if its a problem to make these grandioso tutorials and pump them out, why don’t you try and do in depth tutorials on certain techniques instead of trying to tackle a whole song every time. it sounds to me like you guys are starting to get in over your head. I think you opened up a can of worms when you asked everyone what tuts they wanted to see, giving them the impression that you were about to start pumping them out…

I agree man, i’ve not found anything online apart from that Tom Cosm guy where they explain as fully, professionally and as well as the Sonic guys. Even Future Music/Computer music DVDs seem a little rushed and “i did this, used this, blah” but doesn’t really explain in depth exactly what they did, like what the Sonic guys do.

guys, i can’t be bothered with googling tutorials for you and leaving you a list so you don’t have to do any footwork. you know there out there, but your just praying that i’m wrong and that eventually your gonna get what your after. the fact of the matter is, you’re all a bunch of fanboys that are afraid to voice your opinion. which i think is whack. i know that at least 80% of the people on here agree with me due to the overwhelming amount of emails i get about this topic. again, flame me, dislike me, hate me. i could care less. i want to get what i paid for. the floosy *** tuts that aren’t even in style anymore aren’t doing anyone good. and if you guys keep pressing my buttons i will personally start a campaign on the web letting everyone know how flippin whack this site and you morons are(at which point i will create a giant repository of all tutorials i have come across that are free). the other fact is; most of you just comment other ppls stuff like anyone gives a fuck that you think its cool too, without ever giving up any useful information other than your stupid “entitled” opinion (roben this isn’t to you, i find most of your posts useful) . so to all of you entitled uneducated asshats, keep your mouth shut or say something useful for once. I know for a fact that I have posted a ton of useful information since i have been on here, and i feel like with the amount of “knowledge” i have bestowed upon the for FREEEEEEEEEE, i should at least be satisfied with what i am paying for. if you can’t understand that you should just turn on the gas stove, light up a cigarette, and call it a day.

the above is not directed at the recent posters or anyone inparticular, so please don’t get offended and take it as a personal attack. i am speaking to the masses

raymond

Are you on steroids? Lol

lol, i wish egg2, then i wouldn’t have this damn potbelly!

Dude, violent protest only works in Africa. Voice your thoughts by all means but I can’t see you getting far by insulting people.

As far as fanboys being afraid to voice your opinion goes - come on man, are you really of the opinion that we all agree with you but we’re just too scared to voice it? Speaking for myself that certainly isn’t my frame of thought! It’s all subjective, some people will probably consider what SA have already put out as more than the money’s worth.

When you start insulting people on a public forum you’re just going to make enemies - which in this situation you don’t want. You need allies here, and you need to approach SA and voice your gripes, with support from those allies.

As far as ‘all this knowledge you’ve supplied to the forum’, get some perspective on it - nuskoolbreaks.co.uk, have a look at that and see how helpful the people with 30K+ posts are (vs your 100 odd), for free. They’re all about increasing their knowledge and sharing, out of the kindness of their hearts and they don’t get paid a cent. The knowledge you impart on the forums should be for that reason - it’s not being given to SA it’s being given to us, and we pay just like you do!

Believe me, I’m all for voicing your opinion but try and keep it sensible, otherwise you’ll just wind people up.

first off, virtual enemies, really. hahahahahahahahahah

what is this, second life?

could give a shit

second, please don’t ever use NSB as an example without doing your research. considering i know jimmy brayks and the entire NSB community(and they all know me as raymond, or my dj name BlueMerle), as well as await my opinion and new stuff, I am also an extremely active dj doing spots when i have free time, because im far too busy to do a residency at this point. also a dj on nubreaks.com and a respected dj/producer there as well. promoters have flown me 3000 miles to play shows for them in the UK, Italy, Spain, Ibiza, France, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava, Croatia, Capetown South Africa, and all over the damn US since 1994.

with that being said, please spare me the BS. as i’m not trying to brag or float my boat, but simply letting you know your out of line. and as i said. MOST OF YOU wont voice your opinion publicly, thats the way of the world. which is the reason we need leaders. I do have now 113 emails of voiced agreement that I will not post due to being legit, unlike most of you that would blurt shit out in a second if you thought it would benefit you. I am very well respected in the dance community, have been producing shows/records for 15 years, which is about how old some of you are or act. I travel 200 days out of the year doing what I love, and won’t be told to do things anyway other than my own. I didn’t get here doing it your way, and that’s why your still where you are. enough said!

I think that we should have htsl an angry young man …no wait raymonds on it!
