I demand a Country Music tutorial now or I’m outta here…lol gee wiz.
Seriously though, me and another member have been requesting help in the subscriber support forum with no answer for days now, it is regarding resources for HTSL 1.
guys
it’s kev here
just a quick response to some of the business related issues here
we are a small team of people and i think what we deliver is amazing. we don’t always get things right and we do listen to you guys, so constructive feedback from you guys is always welcome. (raymondsar - yet again, you are on the verge of being abusive in some of your posts recently so watch your tone please - you always seem to tread a fine line and if you cross it, we will switch you off)
we have been on a pretty crazy journey which started with me and phil getting together a few years ago to start a music tech training school, with no money, 2 brains and a sh*t load of passion and we’re still on that journey. we’re still learning and growing and are really proud of creating a site with 1000s of passionate people from all over the world who love making music.
we have to manage your expectations here - if you want quality tutorials (and nothing will ever appear on this site that doesn’t have that “sonic” level of quality) then it takes time to produce. we’re still in start up phase, we don’t make loads of money from this site and we don’t make ANY money from advertising - we’re a small team who try to do what we do brilliantly and it takes time.
as bry said there are a few issues raised in this post that we will address pretty quickly e.g. posting our release schedule etc
we are working on scaling up our production capability but it is going to take time to do this and as bry said we’ve been working on our video delivery system in the last few weeks.
also - as our community grows it is going to be harder and harder to keep pleasing everyone. please keep an open mind about what we produce as you will learn something from all types of genres.
and just to give you an idea of how busy we are phil and i left the office at 1am this morning as we were working on a business proposal and it’s now 4am and i’m writing a post to you lot!
most importantly - thanks for your support and feedback! be patient, fair in your criticism and nice to one another when you’re on the forums and i’ll die a happy man!
if you feel you’re not getting value for money or the quality of service you deserve pm or email me directly

Whats up all,
I think a poll of about 5-8 styles should be posted, then after the voting is finalized the SA crew can take the top 4 and use them for the next couple of tutorials. Then we could do a later vote on the other styles that weren’t as popular. I think this would make a larger majority of people happy because most of the styles that are voted on would eventully be covered.
I obviously would prefer other genres to others and that the tutorials are made in Ableton but, I look forward to all the tutorials no matter.
Its hard to have a democracy. SA is kinda like that in which the majority chooses some of the tutorials we all watch. Someone is always gonna be left out but I think my recommendation might help the process a bit.
Last but not least, I think the non-subscribers shouldn’t be allowed to vote and, I still love the site. I feel it has helped me a lot in my production knowledge so keep it up SA crew I know you guys are trying hard to constantly improve this site. And everyone on the forum are great, there are some very dedicated and involved people that are members. I’m glad I found this place.

i’d just like to say before i subscribed i downloaded a course on its own and had trouble with the resources so emailed customer support and i got a reply within hrs and the problem was solved straight away i think the service s/a provide is 100%:D
It has gotten to the point where I would prefer the polls be for what will go into the “pool” of tutorials to be produced, as opposed to what will be next.
Just put 2-5 of the top voted styles in a hat, and randomly pick.
May not make everyone happy, but no one can feel like the process is unfair.
Best of Luck with the Business Proposal Kev… Hopefully your long hours will pay off Mate.
haha … it seems i ve lost all the fun during my absence due to summer holidays…
the old school boys made such a party and i wasn’t there!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D
anyhow i believe that criticism from people that have prooved their loyality and friendship to SA can only be constructive…
PS. When a mess arise please dont leave out of it…that why we have the PMs
OLD SCHOOL BOYS RULE SA:P:P:P:P:P

OBJECTION!
yeah guys i think the point has been made on this and questions answered so its probably best that the thread is either locked or removed.
I didn’t read the whole thread, but I also got an idea. Woohoo… When I was in college, we used to have guest speakers that were pretty know and relevant to what we were studing. Maybe you guys should get some famous producers to do a tutorial. That would be kick ***. I know quite a few already do YouTube videos, so why not make one for this site?
Just an idea!
BTW, some tutorials on synthesis (all the NI stuff, Rob Papen’s, Nexxus, or Sylenth) and some tutorials on Melody creation, scales, stuff like that would be freakin’ awesome!
