Hey there!
I was thinking about buying Live but since the last version (Live 8) is more than 2 years old now, im afraid of buying it and then Ableton release the 9 version so i would waste my money… Does anybody know if Ableton is planning a new release soon?
Cheers guys
Might aswell buy 8! You got more chance of growing a second penis than ableton releasing 9!

Sad but true
Apparently there was supposed to be an update at this years NAMM, but I guess that didn’t happen…
Not sure I really need to move from 8 tbh. Might upgrade to suite 8 though
What’s 9 gonna have that’s new??
Hopefully 2 screens / Split screens.
AND: I’d like a volume plug that you can use as an insert and do fades on, so you dont need to use the channel fader, or group the track. The gain on the Utility Plug doesnt kill the volume 100%.
And a Transient Shaper.
Access to more Ram… its what, 3gb max at moment? Is it?
2 screens would be good!

64 Bit is going to be the big one, and the important thing there is more memory.
As for Session on one screen and arraignment on another, I would be supprised - kind of breaks their Live ethos.
I’m hoping for a ‘Make your track sound FAT’ setting

You can use fades in ableton … you just need to enable fades.
Well, upgraded software is far better than the old ones.

Fades! This is news to me, thanks Gav.
I notice that you can have a curve on fades, I think V9 will give curves to all the automation.

Yeah I could never understand why you can have curves on fades but not on automation - I tell ya that would be worth the extra cash as I would save heaps of time
Yeh, Automation sucks on Ableton - bring the new version already will ya?
Automation lock to grid. Live cant do that? can it?
by 16th’s, bars, whatever?

I’m not usre what this means. You can set the grid to fixed to 16th or bar or whatever and use the pen to set automation. Is that what you mean?
wath the fk are you all talking about?

Yeah… the pen. Keep forgetting about the pen. Thanks for reminding me Ant… I actually need to use it.
Why cant you draw a fkn line from point A to B? Nutters.
