Been on the champix for the past week and although i’m not smoking i am starting to feel that smoking would be the healthy option.
so far in the last 3 days i’ve had Headaches, Difficulty sleeping, Nausea, sleepiness (even though i can’t sleep properly) diarrhoea, shortness of breath, cough, Panic feelings, can’t think properly, Tension, stomach problems, heartburn, pains, itching, sweating.
I’d the same problem when I stopped smoking the EcoDisks too.
:hehe:
I only have a smoke now if I was out having a Big Session & thats only a few - if any. Dont smoke during day or w/end anymore. I’m happy enough with that. If I do have some when I’m out or at the w/end I dont beat myself up about it. A 20Box might last me 6months.
Read the Alan Carr Book (Not the Chatty Man Book ) and quit without using anything. He says dont substitute.
I think myself, the key is not to stop straight away. Took about 2 years, gradually cutting out the occasions when I smoked. Not in work, not during the week, not @ the w/ends… Might just have a few on a Friday night etc.
After a while you dont need them. They taste rotten. Stop smoking indoors if you do.
Its all about creating a new patterns of routine & then reinforcing that with behavioural changes… I think that is the best long term fix.

Nail on the head.
I’m lucky enough to have never smoked my whole life, it’s never intersted me and have always thought it vile.
Hope you get past your problems dude, you’ll feel much better for it in the long run
ohh man !! smoking is the worst legal Drug you can buy and find . i felt the same way too man when i dry quit smoking . really horrible headaches and mood swing. i was worst than my wife when she PMS lol. I am pretty sure u will be fine , just dont give up and dont get back to it
Good luck Jon, unfortunatly I am hooked on the legal weed but now just smoke rollups unless I am going out on a bender
dude…keep it up! its for the best, trust me. I just started taking my Chantix today as well. Gotta quit again!

gonna keep it up dude doc says i’m probably through the worst and although i’ve had a lot of the side effects to take it as a good sign that they are working. he’s asked me if it was anything i couldn’t handle and i honestly answered NO. He said he thought i would be fine with in the next day or so.
he also mentioned that for a guy who has smoked for 20 years that giving up after only 4-5 days on the champix was an achievement in its self and was proof that i was ready to give up.
Hats off to those guys that quit on their own but simply put i couldn’t do it.
this was me after only a few hours the first time i quit
Harden up Fischer, you can do it!
I’ve never had to give up myself as I’ve never been a smoker but I’ve always envisaged that you just do it and ignore the consequences… that being said, I wouldn’t really fancy the above list on a daily basis!
When I did try and give up cold turkey style - the first week I had all Jons symptoms then after that I suddenly had loads of energy and could actually smell smells taste food etc.
Unfortunatly a personal tragedy happened and I used it as an excuse to start again
well done bro you will be ok if you can put up with another 2yrs of sleepless nights this will be a walk in the park!

Champix are a fantastic aid to stop smoking. I went on them when they were first released, never looked back since! Didn’t have any side effects from it at all and the way in which they bought you off the cig’s were amazing… slightly weird thou…
The first week was normal really, smoked like normal but it wasn’t until the start of the second week where i noticed the difference. Without realising, i had gone from 15 a day, to about 6-8 and then one particular night, i was having a cig in the kitchen with my mum… go thru half of mine and had to put it out… then, i made the mistake of staying in the kitchen and trying to talk to her… those champix gave me the feeling of real hatred for people who were smoking in front of me or when i could smell who it was coming from… madness really but 100% quality!
Now, haven’t smoked for time! The sudden urge to spark up never fully goes, still get it every now and again but just mind over matter.
I would consult your doctor if those are the side effects that your getting, they are obviously not for you. There was a lot of controversy over Champix when they first came out, people were reportedly committing suicide that were on them etc because of how it effects your brain but it was never proven that they were the cause.
There are i think a few more different tablet based no-smoking aids available from your doc, might be worth asking him
Good luck thou Jon!

yep the doctor spoke to me about the suicide part of it and he showed me that just as many people had committed suicide quitting with out champix as those that quit with it.
they have around 75 know side effects and although some people get none others get all, most people get the odd one though.
i should have quit by sunday but i’ve already not wanted to smoke for the past few days. whats happening at the moment i can live with but i would like it if it didn’t get any worse.
I think that thats where my depression and my darker thoughts come from (Id rather not talk about that). Ever since I started taking it a few years ago. However, I think its worth it.
Yeah I asked about Champix but I am on anti-depressents and they don’t mix
