kinda noobish question but in 1st video of Tech House tut 2011, after using recycle i get only one midi file (not sliced) iam reletive new to ableton…so how can i get that loop sliced? boring to slice 1 by 1 :S like i used to in FL.
and iam using pc so when i export the file from recycle… it just exports as a midi file, cant choose bit rates etc. is it just on pc like that ?

i dont think is a noobish question. but i think is more like a being lazy question .
i have one question. about making the lead with percussion. i noticed when we try to program the percussion with a sampler it just sounds very artificial. and the whole loops sounds too cluttered.
so if i just use the percussion loops and cut off the percussion sound to make like a call and response thing. do you think that this would be better than programming with a sampler?
I think using a sampler gives you way more control to get your riff “in the pocket” of the groove.
You might think about scaling back the other percussion or using the same sidechain technique i used.
One thing that i gpdont think people do enough is just remove one part for another… So when the main perc riff comes in you drop the other stuff.
If you think about it in terms of a band… The guitars dont just keep getting added upon, they just change what they are playing.
So if you are a finding you dont have enough space you can drop other stuff out… Then if you are finding you arnt getting a big enough lift you can add some top end stuff to create that… Maybe more shakers, tambs or hats.
This is one track that I am really into at the moment would love to see some aspects of this included in the next few vids. Also, When is the next batch of tuts likely to be uploaded? 100% loving this so far. Cheers.
