I never liked the US Techno
. I actually never liked Techno till one of my best friend from Germany brought me some crazy Schranz back in 1998. Jeff Mills, Adam Bayern , Gayle San , Mistress Barbara,Marco Bailey , Budai and Vic, Joris Voorn , ETC. and all those crazy Europeans that just made me understand that Techno can be super Funky and Heavy at the same time . and not as dark and super minimal like it used to be in the US.
I just dont like the new Techno releases that much. because its a mix of every genere out there.
BTW i still have my Techno 12"

Ok, so how about the Joey Beltran track that sampled chime on R&S? I have a distant memory of this… 1991 or so… was it real or am I going mad? If it exists was that Techno? Tell you what, someone else who wasn’t was Bizarre Inc - who’s with me on that one? Neither was Altern-8 or any of that other gibberish. I’d go as far to say that 808 state were not techno either

Hey, I love Altern-8.
BTW, when people talk of ‘house’ i think they are confused. House is the world, Techno is a continent, so is Deep House. Within the continents are countries and within them states. House is the root folder… everything else is a subfolder within. House is the top of the pyramid… i’m bored now. You get me?
Its a pointless conversation… as a genre its so fractured. The sub-genres only have the machines that they are made on them in common IMO.
Y’d get somewhere talking about Trance, cos its so stagnant.
I reckon there would be a similar confusing, unresolvable conversation about the development of Dubstep, cos similar to Techno, its so forward thinking.

I dont know if what kind of Techno u listen but Marco Bailey produced some awesome Techno before. he did produce other generes
