Please put in your ideas for Sonic, things that you’d like to see, things you’d like changed, etc.
I’d really like to see some written product reviews as well as PDF/web-based handy tips and tricks.
The videos are fantastic but it would be great to have some written material too.
also a FAQs covering the regular asked Qs on here.
+1 Some more hardware & software reviews
Id like to hear Phils story of coast 2 coasts home. How it came about, how he made it and what happenned to him after it got released. I think its nice to hear peoples perspectives and stories of how certain tracks got made. It would make an interesting read anyway.
Some guest producers would be cool

Spulling totrurials :):hehe:
I like the idea of a brief document to support HTSL courses, giving summary key frequencies and frequency separation. The tutor always has in mind a good idea of the frequency he will use for say a kick drum, but the reason for using this frequency is not always clear. I think once users start thinking in frequency separation they will be producing better sounding tunes.

Personally i think once you even start to think like that your music will suck big hairy balls. Muisc is uspposed to be about passion and feelings. approaching everything like a scientist will kill what ever creativity you have.

i’m with you jon if it sounds good use it imo getting bogged down with that sort of stuff would only have a negative effect on creativity…

I wasnt suggesting people approach music as a scientist, but surely understandig the science and theory behind any artform gives a creative person more tools to work with.

Spectral mixiing is only one way to mix… My personal prefrence is to get the source sounds right and eq as little as posible and just balance the sounds… I never really think about frequecies just about if stuff sound good together.
Guests would be a great idea
Diarmaid O meara is irish and doing well at the moment would be nice to get him as a guest
<EMBED height=390 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=640 src=Selfish Bass- Diarmaid O Meara - YouTube allowScriptAccess=“always” allowfullscreen=“true”>+1 for diarmaid o’meara, he’s had loads of great releases in the last couple of years!
I agree with Jon, to that poster you need to get out of the idea that different genres have key frequencies that are used and the whole scientific approach to mixing is bull****. Mixing should be done 90% with the ears, 5% using your eyes and i think the other 5% is just dumb luck and experience.
I also think a good idea for sonic is to step away from this minimal/techno garbage i would like to think people wanna learn how to make music, with emotion, melody, harmony etc not just 7 minutes of a kick drum and random electronic noises.
